my husband and i ate there for the first time tonight. the staff were friendly. my husband said the chicken bbq pizza was outstanding, but i will say that my chicken and cheese sub was really salty and a little tough, but it was ok. the sub bread was toasted nicely.\
the ranch dressing, that came for some reason, was very tart and shiny like a bottled ranch vs homemade.
the onion rings “passed the pull test” meaning you bite into it and the onion doesnt all pull out with one bite. but it was fried too long, so the panko breading was very sharp and crunchy and the onion was very thin to the very thick bread ratio. im assuming they were frozen pre breaded vs freshly breaded and fried.
you can get cans of soda or order from the soda machine, but the diet coke spout only put the syrup out and not the mix of syrup to soda water. he said thats how it comes but the regular coke was the right mix, yet we only do diet. i tested it to show him there was a problem with the diet. so, we switched to the canned soda. oddly, the canned soda tasted old and expires in a few days (i do have pics of all the food, etc), but the next can we grabbed expires in nov so thats better. they should expire months down the road.
but the pizza is the way to go here and it is a pizza place, after all. you will be happy...
Read moreWanted a quick lunch while waiting for my cat at the vet. Ordered the Greek salad with garlic bread for $8.99. My first red flag: “ranch or Italian?” What? It’s a Greek salad—supposed to be oil and vinegar with feta, Greek olives, etc. Umm, no. Those are my options. I go with Italian.
A kid brings it out and there’s no dressing, so have to ask again. Plastic to go tub of orange Italian. There’s also a small, single, hard, bread twisty thing, not the garlic bread the menu says comes with it. I ask, and the kid working the counter says “let me check.” He goes into the kitchen, then comes back and actually checks the menu to prove my claim. The first guy comes back out and says “that is garlic bread.” I dispute this because not only doesn’t it have garlic, it doesn’t have salt. It’s basically flour and water. Completely tasteless and reheated. I reiterate that this isn’t garlic bread. The kid is looking scared, like he knows the other guy is full of it, but the other guy is firm, that there’s garlic in it. He then just shrugs at me and they both go back into the kitchen.
$9.53 plus a $2 tip (ahead of time, sadly) for a plate of lettuce, huge green pepper slices, California canned black olives (not Greek), a shmear of feta, huge onion slices and a tasteless piece of bread. No, I...
Read moreSecond time having Good Fellas delivered. This is one of my least favorite pizza places ever, let along in the NoVa area.
The dough is frozen even though fresh dough is written on the box. You can tell because the dough does not raise at all during the baking process. This makes the dough flat and tasteless.
The sauce flavor is bitter. The sauce has not been cooked long enough or seasoned.
The cheese is bland and oily. It is usually overcooked.
The toppings are sparse. I received an incorrect pizza that used gyro meat. The meat was overcooked and was barely on the pizza.
Back to receiving the incorrect pizza. This is twice now this has happened to me. in this case I received a red pizza with meat rather than a white pizza with only vegetables. This did not go over well with those looking for a completely different flavor.
I hate saying this, but I've had better store bought frozen pizzas. Both pizzas were tossed out after a...
