The worst food and service I have ever had in my 41 yrs on Earth. So we walked in and the ambience lacked everything pleasant. It was dark with a strong Lysol smell at the door. My guest and I decided go give the food a chance because the smell was strong we just assumed the place is clean, we can appreciate that in the middle of a Pandemic. It was 1 older women providing service for 2 other tables and then ours. We decided to order a Salmon/crab alfredo pasta listed on the order board for specials as you enter the restaurant. We also ordered salads for appetizers. The ranch dressing was so watery and asked the server if we could change our dressing to something different. We waited for a while and nothing came, so we reminded her and she shook her head out of frustration and stormed off. The food came or excuse me 1 of the pastas came out of the 2 we ordered. My guest was extremely disappointed. The sauce was watery and the salmon was extremely dried out. Unfortunately my guest called the server back over to return the poor dish and at this time by the way the replacement salad dressings came out. The server snatched the plate from our table and said we dont have complaints about our food so this is ridiculous. She then screamed at us and stated, Do you not understand how expensive crab meat is right now?". We answered yes we live in Howard County Maryland and we buy crabs or crab meat often. So finally she brought the Second pasta dish out and I actually wanted to taste the dish for myself because who knows I may like it. I did not want my guest distate to change my mind. And yes it was awful. She snatched the dish and stated we wasted her husband's time cooking both dishes. I asked if we could meet the chef and discuss what we thought and our distaste for the pasta dishes. She said No and proceeded to let us know she was not taking the tab completely off and we would have to pay for half to atheist cover the price of her wasted crab meat. It was a total of $28 or $14 each. The salads were not expensive although we never had the dressing to eat them and had water as our drinks. I did not argue about the price because I knew I would never visit again because we live miles away. We found it on GPS during our drive to VA Beach. I requested to meet her husband the chef again and she said No so we gracefully left. I would not buy the food to feed my dogs or a...

Do not overlook The Pasta House Italian Restaurant located at 8196 Atlee Road in Mechanicsville, Virginia. It has a completely unassuming look presented by its strip-mall looking exterior but serves absolutely fantastic cuisine. We have lived in the area for 25 years and have found no better Italian fare in the area. Consistently delicious, with an excellent wine and drink selection, and always great service.

Tonight was no exception. This weekend we are celebrating my wife's birthday by taking a few days off together and just letting it all hang out! She wanted to kick-off her extended birthday weekend by washing the dog, voting early, then getting cleaned up and heading to The Pasta House. And so we did.

Fantastic. We love their house Merlot, which we think is Cartlidge & Browne.

As always, the excellent Calamari appetizer was artfully prepared to be crispy on the outside and very tender inside. Then came the house salads, lightly topped with their house Italian dressing.

My wife followed this with the Seafood Cannelloni main dish, while I had the Salmon Livornese, both perfectly prepared. Might even be our new Pasta House favorites!

Quite a meal, so we ordered a couple cannoli to go... and shared one later at home. Crispy, light shell, that was well filled. Delicious.

Fantastic ambience for our date night and her birthday celebration. We...

We took our 5 year old here for her birthday lunch on a Sunday, at her request. We had a very large party as she wanted her aunts and uncles to join. Our server, who I believe was the manager, was not amused by our large party or that we would need separate checks. Unfortunately, my husband and I are not able to cover the $22/plate for all of the guests. We were the only people in the restaurant and I had called over a week in advance to let them know we were coming. She asked if we would be paying in cash, which I didn’t understand what difference it would make since we would be responsible for the credit card charges. Not once were we asked if we would be paying all together or not when I made the reservation. She was so rude to us that the entire party was just astounded by her attitude. We brought a small cake so everyone could sing but she told us, several times, that if we ate the cake inside the restaurant she would have to charge us $15. I’m not entirely sure why. She just really didn’t seem to want us there and acted like we were an inconvenience. There was one other table in the entire restaurant the whole time we were there. Everyone in our party said they would never go back, which is sad for me because my kids love pasta and I really like...

We really enjoyed our impulse stop at Pasta House. We were passing thru Richmond on 295 and I just asked Google maps for food near me. We didn't want to eat chain food and picked Italian. This is a little local gem. There was no wait for seating and service was fairly fast. They have a very good menu and it's very Italian. We had Italian wedding soup, and 2 veal dishes because no one in our area serves veal. Each entree came with a salad. We also shared a glass of reasonably priced chianti since we were driving thru. The food was well prepared, hot and tasty. Good simple tomato sauce and quality mozzarella were used in making the dishes as well as fresh pasta. You can tell the difference over Olive Garden and other chain restaurants. We wish this restaurant was in our home town.
