We had been wanting for so long to stop here for bbq and finally made it by on a day they were open. There is no real designated parking so we just pulled up the way it looked like we should park since it is right off the highway and there is no real designated parking. We actually arrived about ten minutes early but the two young staff who were there served us and were wonderful. However, when we went to leave this older man with white hair and beard in a red truck started yelling at us to “move our truck” he obviously was mad, maybe late to his job and he could actually have just gone down a little farther and pulled in. I told him we had just gotten our order and he yelled that he was the owner or something. It was awful. I told him that I am also a business owner and I would NEVER treat my customers like that and if I vet had a staff member do that they would be fired. Anyway, the BBQ is great and the two young workers were fantastic and super nice but that old guy … stay away from him and everything will be fine hopefully.

I hadn't been to this amazing barbecue shack in 10 years. We went back 2 days ago, and it was as fantastic as I remembered. The first time we stopped it was because we were driving by and could smell the heavenly scent of authentic BBQ. The smokers are right out front. There's also picnic tables with umbrellas to sit at. We got the ribs and the pulled pork and both were absolutely amazing. The mac and cheese is to die for. The baked beans were the best I've ever had. We also got banana pudding for dessert and it was delicious! We showed up at the end of the day, so they didn't have any thick ribs left. When we picked up our order they let me know the deal, and made sure to let me know they threw in extra bones since they weren't as thick as they wanted. Ordered half rack and got 10 bones. You can't ask for a better business than this. It wasn't their fault, and I would have been happy regardless, but they made sure I was a happy customer. We got a chance to talk with the owner and his son, and they were fantastic. Great guys!

This was the Best Pork BBQ I ever tasted. I am from Texas and very picky about the BBQ I eat. I drove past and couldn’t stop because I was running late driving to South Carolina. However that smell stuck in my head. My next trip I stopped for lunch with my Sister in law. She is also a Texan. We sat on the picnic table and ate our food. We both loved it and said it was worth the 2 1/2 hour drive to eat here and shop the area. We live in West Virginia. The rub is perfection and the way they cook the meat is a tradition that is something you can’t replicate at a Texas Roadhouse. The Mac and Cheese was delicious and how I make it so I was happy. If you drive pass Paulie’s and don’t stop you will be missing the Best BBQ in Virginia. I have stopped twice on my way to SC to visit family. I could drive a different route but this way takes me by Paulie’s Pig Out to get a delicious lunch!!Oh the Banana Pudding is another good choice for dessert. I will be driving back home this weekend and I will be stopping by to pick up a meal to go.

Googled food nearby, saw the name and disregarded it as I'm not a fan of BBQ. Disappointed, I decided we'd just head toward home and grab some fast food on the way.

I didn't notice the place until it was in the rearview mirror. I smelled something amazing and turned the the car around. Saw the name and recognized it as the restaurant I'd earlier disregarded. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and baked beans and a slice of apple pie. My thought was "woah" when the bill was over $22. But when they handed me the bag I understood. I could have easily shared this with someone (I have half of it in the fridge for tomorrow). No shallow sections in this packaging. Beans and potato salad were plentiful and good, especially the baked beans. They make it nice and thick like I like it. The sandwich was good too!

But I'll tell you what, that dang apple pie is one of those foods you think about years after eating it. I have never, ever, had pie crust that I've finished. Just not a fan. But this crust was maybe better than the filling. Seriously! It was somehow sweet and soft but not mushy.

I look forward to visiting the area again and trying the ribs. But man - I will be lusting after that pie until then.

(At first I gave 'atmosphere' a 2 because it's a hole in the wall, if you will. But after I thought about it, I realized that's probably the charm and magic. It's a roadside gem. So I'm giving that damn parking lot I...
