Railway Café — Restaurant in Virginia

I order lunch here very often and so do my coworkers. The food is always on point! And you could not ask for a better group of people to work there and run the business! They all are always so kind to everyone and very patient! They work hard and seem to all work very well together! They are fast, friendly and eager to please! It’s a very comfortable environment and it’s heart warming when you walk in after being a customer for a while and they know you by name and go ahead and grab your order for you when you come to pick it up!

They support the community of Bassett in many ways, and they are such an amazing addition to the area! I always get the chicken strips and fries but that’s because it is my absolute favorite dish because I always tell everyone. If you can’t make a simple chicken strip you won’t do well in the industry….but they cook them PERFECT every single time! I have tried their other foods and it was very delicious as well! The street corn is to die for!! I wish this business nothing but the best and if you’re a future customer reading this review right now just trying to find somewhere to eat, choose Railway, I promise you will...

I have a daughter with special needs. She has a hard time with noises and crowds in other restaurants and therefore it distracts her and she can't eat there. We have to end up taking the food home. This does NOT happen at Railway Cafe. She has had good experiences each time and has tried new things. It's her favorite place to go. Her favorites are the Caboose, the French Toast and the fries ! A couple of times she has had a hard time deciding what to order and the employee working there has suggested a sandwich and she has loved it each time. We have enjoyed our food outside and inside, there's always cool music playing to enjoy and friendly staff to help us with extra napkins or Railway sauce. I’m so glad that Bassett has a restaurant in town. We have several around our area but the Railway Cafe is across from the train station and is convenient to where I live.

The restaurant is small but there is a nice patio when the weather is good. Since opening, the owner has made adjustments and improvements.

Not long after I began going to the Railway Cafe, the staff called me by name each time I went in and they still do. The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. They serve breakfast all day and offer a variety of sandwiches and salads too. Their Ranch dressing is so popular that customers can buy bottles of their own to take home. Several other dressings and sides are available for purchase too.

Finally, their desserts are homemade and delicious! I’m glad to have a good...
