Smokin'Q — Restaurant in Virginia

Let me just start off with saying I don't like giving bad reviews. Being a business owner myself I know people can be petty. But there is no excuse for this kind of service. I had spoken and booked Jody months in advanced to come to my family's campground memorial day weekend. We had marketed it, and had many people and locals coming to do horseback rides, camp and locals off the road that just wanted to eat good bbq. He had come prior and said location and travel would be no problem. We are a campground afterall, and have many 40ft big rigs come and have never had issues with roads. He texts us 2 weeks before he's expected to come saying he doesn't think he can make it up the road and that he supposedly spoke to an officer that said he would be ticketed for traveling up our road. Well, this was news to us as we are a campground hosting hundreds of RVers. We spoke to the Shenandoah County Officers and they said, they said no such thing, and actually laughed at it. Saying they wouldn't ticket anyone for such reasons. We called and left him messages saying we had spoken to an officer but he never responded. Cancelling 2 weeks before a major holiday is completely unacceptable and just plain bad business. If you didn't want to do it fine. No need for elaborate lies. We went to Smokin Qs for the first time today and All I can say is WOW. We ordered some of the pulled pork and the beef brisket with their “spicy” sauce. He assured us it wouldn’t be too spicy and we’d still enjoy the meat and he was right! The sauce was perfect. The meats were well smoked. The bark on the brisket was delicious. He was almost out of the smoked chicken and gave us some to try and it was amazing! We went around 3:30 and he was almost out of chicken, pork, and brisket, and already out of ribs. If you know BBQ you know that that is a tell tale sign you’re at a good BBQ place. Lastly, the worker (I’m assuming owner?) was beyond kind and hospitable. Great tender juicy brisket! It’s seasoned lightly and then smoked the entire time not just boiled gray and then smoked like a lot of “bbq” places do! The pulled pork is juicy, tender and full of flavor. I haven’t had the chicken yet because I just get what I love but I’d imagine it’s great too! The beans are excellent, they have just the right amount of sweet and heat that you know and love from baked beans. This truck could have a restaurant if he wanted, I’d imagine the only problem would be with keeping up with demand.
