I placed an order online last night at 7:45. I arrived at 8:03 to pick my order up. The store is supposed to close at 9:00pm. The door was locked. After waiting for the young man to acknowledge my presence, he sauntered to the door and informs me that he canceled my order 30 minutes ago! It had only been 15 minutes since I ordered. He said he had worked alone all day so he closed because he was tired and had to close down everything by himself. I was not aware that my order had been canceled and I drove 15 minutes to pick the order up. He went back in the store and locked the door at 8:04 pm. I sat in my car and ordered from other establishments. At 8:20 he left the store, heading to Food Lion. He came back with a bag at 8:32 and went to the back of the store. He came directly out and went next door to the Dominos. A young lady who works in Dominos came out and the two of them went into the back of the Subway. She came out a few minutes later and got a soda out of the cooler and went back into the back with the rude young man that was supposed to be "cleaning up the store". I left at 8:36 to go pick up my other orders. The two of them were still in the back of the store. I took pictures of all of this! If the store closes at 9:00. Why would he delete an order for 2 footlong combo meals at 7:46? He was not cleaning anything! This is beyond unacceptable!! I can provide evidence of the order, cancelation e mail and pictures of all his actions. I managed a restaurant for 10 years and I would never have put up with these shenanigans. It is beyond poor customer service. I attempted to call this store this morning and got an answering machine. If I could have given 0 stars i would have! I will never go to this location again. Read moreUsually, I like Subway, but this shop should be closed down and deep cleaned and the staff retrained before someone becomes very sick. I was there two weeks ago. Three young people were staffing the restaurant at the time. One appeared to be a manager. They were polite, and to be charitable, perhaps they would do a good job if they had been properly trained and managed in basic restaurant hygiene. Yet, you would think even some basic common sense would inform them that you just don't open a business to the public in this kind of condition. This was the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been to IN MY LIFE of six decades. Given what the public area looked like, I shudder to think what the food prep area in the back is like. I entered the ladies restroom to wash my hands after I ordered. The men's room was out of order so my son had to use the ladies room, too. If I had gone to the bathroom FIRST, I would have walked out without ordering. I should have just left, anyway. It was evident that the restroom had not been cleaned in a VERY long time. It shocks me that the staff may use it. The toilet was covered with dry fecal matter. The floors and sink and door were absolutely filthy. The sink was CRUSTED over with dirty and soap scum in the basin and everywhere. The dining room was almost just as bad as the restrooms. There was trash on the floors. Every table surface was dirty. The drink station was a dirty, sticky mess. The floor was dirty and dusty and did not appear to have been swept, much less mopped at any recent time, dust bunnies in all crevices. I have been a loyal Subway customer for many years, but this visit was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Upon entering, I immediately noticed that the windows and food display glass were visibly dirty, and there were flies inside the restaurant, including inside the cookie display case. The overall environment appeared unsanitary, and the food itself looked like it was in poor and possibly expired condition. There were crumbs and food debris scattered throughout the preparation area, and the cutting boards appeared unclean.
Additionally, the staff member who assisted me was unprofessional and unfriendly. I waited several minutes before being acknowledged, and when I was finally helped, I was met with a poor attitude. When checking out, the cashier overcharged me — I ordered two 12-inch subs and two 6-inch subs, but was charged for three 12-inch subs and one 6-inch sub.
Due to the restaurant’s unsanitary condition and overall experience, my family and I did not eat the food, as we were concerned for our health and safety. I am therefore requesting a full refund for this order.
Please investigate this location immediately, as it presents serious food safety concerns that could put customers at risk.
