The name West End Wine Bar & Pub doesn't do much justice to the restaurant. In my opinion, this is an amazing business-casual farm-to-table restaurant and bar! This is great choice for dinner. There is a pub downstairs. Excellent salads, appetizers, entrees, and sandwiches. Everything on the menu is fresh. Salad options are especially well done and are as fresh as it gets. Local farm sourced meats and vegetables are featured and are frequently available. The atmosphere is like a relaxed fine-dining restaurant. Service has been outstanding! Very popular place. The venue is a nicely repurposed beautiful former 1915 inn. They do take reservations, which during typical dinner times, fill up quickly, so those are a must. Once in a while we luck out if just stopping by to check on the spot availability. However we usually find immediate seating if we make reservations avoiding typical dinner times. There is also a very nice new enclosed outdoor seating area. Parking is free and available, although can be a bit tight at their busy times. Handicapped accessibility is very good; multiple handicapped parking spaces are close. There is a wheelchair lift from the parking lot to the restaurant. The menu is artfully designed and executed. The kitchen is highly competent and hardworking, providing orders within reasonable waits. Everything on the menu is excellent. Portions tend to be large. An appetizer and a salad can make a whole meal. The short ribs entree is not to be missed. The pork chops are also a favorite entree. The full bar is very capable. The bar area is a very good seating option if tables aren't available. They offer creatively-done cocktails. Very good bourbon list, quite a number of favorites are included. Wine list is carefully curated and is well rounded. It's well worth a visit, and no kidding it will be a happy experience! We have been there many times and it's always been very good. It's tucked away on the west side of town, but it's not to be missed. Highly...

"Boiled NY Strip". That is about the best way I could describe our experience. Upon arriving to what was expected to be a nice 4pm outdoor dinner with my wife and daughters, we arrived to a chaotic scene of tables still be set up, staff shuffling around tables, seats, glassware, etc. (which would be understandable if we arrived early, but we arrived exactly at 4pm). We ordered (3) appetizers, one of which was the Chef's Cheese Selection. Nothing was described or suggested for pairings related to the cheeses themselves, (or drinks, which would be expected at this price point.). I ordered the NY Strip, rare. When it arrived it was covered in almost a soup of gravy and mushrooms. My wife asked if I had ordered a Salisbury Steak entrée. After scrapping my stew from atop the NY Strip, I cut into the steak to observe it appeared to have been boiled in the actual mushroom gravy which adorned the top. I did not complain, or send back, as I did not want to ruin my wife's experience on her day; but to pay $40+ for a steak I could have received at Silver Diner was beyond disappointing. It is obvious the griddle/grill was not to proper heat to create the sear a NY Strip requires. I would suggest either lowering your prices to meet the food served, or (and most preferably) train the cook and service staff to perform at a level patrons come to expect when finding your restaurant when searching "high end restaurants...

Came in for early dinner. Sat on the back deck. It was really nice. Ordered an appetizer, it was chicken and was served pink(undercooked). Ordered 2 drinks when we were seated, and they were served after our dinner arrived (20-25 mins.). Placed our dinner order. I ordered the steak frites well done. Waitress wrote it down and then asked how I would like it cooked????? Dinner was served, the presentation was very nice. However, the French fries were undercooked. They were brown almost overcooked on the outside but the inside was still hard (undercooked) the steak frites were not well done as ordered. The appetizers were taken away and the manager came over and apologized they were not to our liking (Uhmm I like my chicken cooked!!) and removed them from our bill. The steak frites were served without a steak knife. So I had to wait for that. Waitress came over and asked if everything was OK… we ordered another drink. 15 minutes later, no drink.. she came over and asked if there was anything else. We told her to bring check and cancel the drink… she said what drink??, we informed her that we had ordered another drink, she said with me? Uhm yes, she asked if she responded, we said yes… seriously???? Just bring the check. Manager came over once again to apologize for inattentive service and made and adjustment to our bill. So sorry that the service was subpar. Cannot recommend this...

We absolutely love this place and it is our go to spot in Purcellville. The food is always fantastic, the quality of the ingredients and flavor never disappoints here. I have found that this place is heaven for those of us that love our side dishes. I’m currently on a confit fingerling potatoes kick. My wife and I both subbed them in for our entrees tonight and they have to be the best potato side dish I have ever had. They also have a great wine and beer selection to pair with whatever you decide. For the entrees, I tend to bounce between the steaks, the nightly specials, and the burger. The tri-tip sirloin always seems to hit the spot for me. Anytime I’m between entrees, the tri-tip is a finalist for a reason. My wife typically bounces between the salads and the Confit Chicken. It’s an awesome half roasted chicken, and it’s usually good for me the next day since she can’t seem to ever finish it. For the dessert, do yourself a favor and get the double Chocolate Pot du Crème. As for the service here, we’ve dined in the main dining area and the pub, and can say one thing, it’s always been consistent for us. Great service, great food, and great experience every time for us.

The building is a quaint old home that has been wonderfully transformed into a great little restaurant. The service was pleasant, friendly, without being overbearing. We had the traditional breakfast and chicken and waffles. The eggs were perfect, the bacon crisp, the sourdough toast had just enough butter and the potato wedges were very well done. The waffles were sweet and fluffy, the chicken, lightly battered and tastefully offset with the maple sicracha syrup. The greens on the side were an unexpected side dish, that provided a great complimentary flavor to a very satisfying brunch.

Husband and I made reservations Saturday (9/30) for date night. We arrived early, but we're sat right away. Our server was very friendly, but they definitely were understandstaffed (she mentioned herself earlier). We had to wait a bit between dinner and dessert. I enjoyed the sangria, it was huge. The food was REALLY good. Very homey and comforting. My husband had the veal special and I had the confit chicken. For desserts, we enjoyed tiramisu and creme brulee. It was a quiet and quaint dinner. We enjoyed ourselves.
