Angelo's Kitchen — Restaurant in Visalia

My girlfriend and I came in expecting a bit more, especially with the good reviews, and left feeling disappointed. The food was nothing special and had a lot to be desired. My $15 burrito had nothing but meat, beans, and rice with a scarce amount of grilled onions (which I asked for). But no cheese or anything special and the food was bland in my opinion. Then, there’s our service. When we came in there was hardly anyone there. One family seated and that’s it. So we place our order and we are told it would be about 15 minutes til our food was out. About 5 minutes after this, another 2 people come in and are seated, and then after a few minutes they are brought chips etc and place their order for dine in. Their food came out SO fast, within like 7-10 minutes. Meanwhile, the girl and I are like huh… so we wait patiently. 25 minutes go by and still nothing, the lady hasn’t said anything to us about our food. I’m like okay let me go ask and she says they are “just bagging our food up.” Which somehow took another 5 minutes? Overall, our customer experience was super poor, and no compensation for the wait when we spent $45 on our order. Kind of dissapointing. I honestly wouldn’t recommend based off our visit as FIRST TIME guests. We had never been there and just felt like we were kind of disregarded...

I wish I would’ve taken a picture of all the food because even that to go food was presented very well!!! The tortillas are homemade if you’d like for a dollar more well worth the dollar more, everything was fresh and taste extremely well!!! my order missed three tacos, but the lady was so kind and I’ll be back for more than just the three tacos 🤣 More importantly I must admit the customer service was by far the best I’ve seen in Visalia California for a very long time and that alone makes me wanna come back!!! We were in town for a tradeshow and tried this restaurant our first night in town. We were skeptical of any restaurant that had all 5 star reviews but have decided they were all well earned. We ended up eating here 3 out of the 4 nights we were in town. The owners are so sweet and remembered our orders every time. The food is wonderful (especially the green tomatillo salsa) and the chips are hot and fresh as you come in the door!
