I was looking for lunch after leaving Fort Loudoun State Historic Park, and on my Garmin GPS and Waze both listed Smok N' Bonz. I'm not a big BBQ fan, but since I"m on vacation, I will just go with the flow. At first, I completely missed the restaurant because it sits behind the bank on the left upon entering the shopping center in a standalone building. At first, I was looking for the restaurant in the strip of stores on the right. I left my 2 little dogs in the car and walked into the restaurant. It wasn't what I expected. The ordering counter is right by the door with the dinning area behind it. It's usually the other way around for most, all the restaurants I've visited. I must have looked confused, and a nice lady sitting at the table asked if I needed some help. As it turned out, she doesn't even work there. She's one of the customers. The young lady who works there asked if I need any help, and she was very patient - giving me plenty of time to look through the menu. I originally selected the half rack ribs and some beans, then another lady sitting at another table suggested that I should try the chicken salad. She doesn't work there either. It is kind of funny that the customers are so helpful, and they're not even getting paid. I took her suggestion and ordered the chicken salad, baked potato and beans as a side. While waiting for the food, I talked to the first lady who spoke to me, and from the conversation, I figure that she must be a regular. She was so nice. I took the food to my car to eat because of my dogs, and when I opened the container, the fragrance of smoked chicken hit my nose. Oh my, it smelled sooooo good! I ended up eating the salad without any salad dressing because I enjoyed the chicken so much that I didn't want to contaminate the delicious smoked flavor with the salad dressing. The bean also looked real good and it was delicious, too. The baked potato was so big that it was a meal on its own. All the food ended up lasted me all day -- lunch and dinner. The price is very reasonable, too. This restaurant really changed my mind about BBQ. I usually associate BBQ with BBQ Sauce. The smoked chicken was amazing. Together with the friendly service, if I ever in the area, I'll definitely swing by and...
Read moreJust had a great bbg meal with my husband, son and his family at Smoke-N-Bonz I have to say they have the best potatoe salad I've ever eaten, and it was recommended by my lovely daughter-in-law who is also very wise, and a good cook herself. My Husband and my 12 year old grandson literally devoured the ribs! And why not? They were "fall off the bone" tender, and quite tasty according to them, and by the evidence smeared all over their hands and mouths. My son, daughter-in-law, and myself all had the pulled pork plate. I must admit, I am not a huge fan of pork, but prefer it or chicken to beef when eating smoked meats. But both my son and his spouse seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. I prefer more of a smokey flavor myself. The pulled pork plate comes with two sides and texas toast, as did the rib entree. A variety of sauces are present on each table with a thoughtfully placed roll of paper towels, and wet wipes upon request. And trust me, our group was very appreciative for assist in keeping my rib loving husband presentable! They won my heart with a cold, fresh, fully dressed side salad. Most resturaunts will serve a minimal salad with lettuce and tomato, maybe a little cucumber. This delicious side had the basics plus real bacon bits, real cheddar, shredded carrots, red onion slices, AND fresh soft croutons! Now that's a great salad! You give me a great salad and good ole fresh brewed iced tea, which they did, and I'm a satisfied customer. But throw in hot, tastey sides, attentive, friendly service, a warm, family atmosphere and I'm your newest repeat customer! My grandson also enjoyed some great looking chocolate ice cream for dessert that I was sure was homemade, but my son said he thought it was Mayfields, which is almost as good. I can't wait to go back and try the smoked chicken, onion rings, and sample some of the other desserts, or maybe just one of their great looking Piggy back Potatoes, which are a meal all by themselves! Thanks Smoke-N-Bonz, for a delicious meal, great family atmosphere, reasonable prices, and putting up with our sometimes noisy bursts of laughter and catching up. We had a great time! Hope to see you all...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Smoke-N-Bonz, I had a mixed dining experience. The fried okra and beans stood out, both prepared to perfection and offering a delightful taste that I thoroughly enjoyed. The okra had just the right amount of crispiness, and the beans were seasoned well, complementing the main dish nicely.
However, the main course, the pork, was less than satisfactory. It was unfortunately overcooked, resulting in a texture that was too dry for my preference. This sentiment was echoed by my business colleagues, who experienced similar issues with their meals.
In the spirit of constructive criticism, I believe Smoke-N-Bonz has the potential for excellence. The side dishes were quite good, indicating that the kitchen has the skill to produce tasty food. I hope that this feedback will be taken as an opportunity to improve, particularly in the preparation of their pork dishes, to ensure a consistently enjoyable dining experience for...
