We had a reservation for 5:15 pm. After asking 3 times for a waitress, one finally came 45 minutes later. The only service we had was from the boy that refilled our water glasses. The beer served in a can was opened with no glass. Had to ask for a glass. Which of course ruined the head on the beer because the can was opened. I don't believe I've ever experienced a worse service at any establishment. The sirloin at $29 tasted exactly like the filet mignon at $45. They both were the exact tenderness. It made me wonder if they were both sirloins, but getting a much higher price for the 6 oz filet compared to the 8 oz sirloin. The hostess told us she would get us a free desert to compensate us in some way, but of course it was never mentioned. In fact the waitress didn't even ask us if we wanted dessert. First the No 14 manhattan was perfect. Our server greeted us immediately and brought us the rustic bread and herb butter, very good and then we requested another round of bread. My husband also ordered the baked french onion cup of soup. He thought the cheese was different (not his favorite) and loved the soup base. It wasn't salty like some other places.

Atmosphere: Noise from the bar, making it difficult for diners to converse, has always been a challenge at this location. If something could have been done to improve that, I'm sure you would have done it, D. I guess it's just part of the charm of the Village of Country Living. Suggestion: For the soup/salad course, it might be nice to offer an alternative dressing (like a simple french?) on the wedge salad for those with weird dietary restrictions (like me) who can't tolerate creams, onions, heavy garlic, vinegar based dressing...but still...
