Came here for Easter with my family. Wow, the service was great and the food amazing. Awesome ambiance. Food came out faster than we thought it would. Do not miss!

Dessert here was very good, and the dinner enjoyable as well - I had the short ribs, which were very tender. Our waitress was friendly.

This place deserves zero stars. How the hell it is still open is one of the great mysteries in life.

This is the second time I tried this dump. Figured I would give it one more shot after my last visit about 5 years ago. Thought I would keep it simple with American fare. Shouldn’t have bothered.

First off, my beer was warm. How can that be for a place that is primarily a bar? This is not Europe where warm beer is the norm. Appetizer was nachos. My beer was warmer than the nachos. Had I just ordered nachos and waited to try them before ordering, I would have asked for the check.

My daughter tried the sizzling fajita and hated it after one bite. They give you a plate on the side with rice, guacamole, sour cream and what it supposed to be refried beans. More like blast furnace beans. There wasn’t a shred of moisture left in the beans and had the appearance of (use your imagination). Ah, forget reservations, they looked like chihuahua droppings. The chicken had that wet dog funky taste. Tortillas were too small. Only thing they got right on this item from its name was sizzling.

My wife had a burger. She had it medium well. Said it was ok but I’m dubious. The bun was way too big for the burger if you ask me. I didn’t care to take a bite after battling with my order so I can’t opine further.

Me, I had the filet mignon sandwich with cheese, mushrooms and onions served with fries. Started off with the fries. Limp, over cooked and not flavorful. If you really NEED catchup on fries, the fries must suck. They did. The steak sandwich you ask...? Ok, first off, how about bread that’s not dry, bordering on stale, that would be nice. Steak, I had it medium rare. It was a little more on the rarer side. It would be nice if they sliced it before just slapping it whole on the bread. Needed to hire a beaver to gnaw through it to avoid having a hunk of meat hanging from my mouth like a ravenous wolf. Tore the meat out of the bread and ate it that way, no seasoning, very bland. The cheese they had on it didn’t do anything to help it, and cheese helps just about everything.

The waiter was courteous, but that is where the compliments stop.

You work hard for your money, don’t waste it here. Even fast food is better...

MSSSJUDY Saddle River, New Jersey 106 Pending review Birthday Celebration during Covid I first have to start out with this celebration was with my four adult children with their wives and their children..We were very nervous regarding that many people but my Daughter called Bob, the owner, at the Village and we had three separate tables for each of my kids families. He worked so well with the planning with my daughter...The tables were certainly distanced and everyone felt safe and secure...me being the guest of honor sat with my sister and her husband....We had Patrick, our waiter, who was going to handle all three tables and did a magnificent job...The food came out for two of the tables basically at the same time and the third table about 5 minutes later which was fine...Drinks were always served quickly and Patrick kept a good eye on all of us...the food choices varied, I had a dinner and quite a few people chose that selection and some had burgers. We all had appetizers which came out perfectly planned with the drinks.... The food was perfect and the pleasant story is everyone got what they ordered and cooked to the way they asked...We had three separate checks and that also came out great...If you are worried about covid, as we all are, the way they have the tent set up is as healthy as possible, one entire horizontal side is open with the cross breeze on the other side of the tent...The heaters were wonderful and that night it was very cool outside, rather darn cold, and we were all comfortable...If you have any worries, be wise, wear your masks, as all of the people that were waiting on us and the food servers from the kitchen and you wear them to the table and then can take them off until you stand up again....A perfect evening even though I thought we were never going to be able to do it...The Village Grill CARES and you are treated...

It's a been a couple years since I've been back here at the village grill and boy, lot of things have changed. I was surprised that there was only one other couple eating in the booths and about 5 people at the bar I expected it to be crazy busy at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon on a Saturday. Walking in the interior is beautifully done and heavy oak moldings very warm looking and the fireplace is absolutely gorgeous. There are multiple TV's for the sports fans. Dropped in to get lunch my eating mate was running a bit late so I Browsed the menu and thought their prices have gone up but then again what hasn't. We ordered an appetizer was so so but then we ordered our entrees and was disappointed in the steak sandwich A filet mignon, seeing that it was a bit on the thin side, Just put all the meat on one side and got rid of the bread. The glass in between the booths really needed a cleaning since you could see you all the fingerprints and oils!! This is something you can't miss when you talking to the other person opposite from you but maybe they don't see it because they're standing up and looking at the people there are ordering. The plus side was that we did mention that we were disappointed in the steak sandwich and the manager and waiter who by the way the waiter was extremely courteous had taken it off the bill. We will try again and hopefully would it...
