The first time I went here I wasn't expecting much. The China House has a very typical run of the mill small time business. From the cookie cutter menu, to the signs you always see in the worst Chinese restaurants. Let me tell you, the food is much better than you ever could have expected from a place like this. Most of the food is very good for the price and type of restaurant. One of the two downfalls is their fried rice, but the way it is made is the same plasticity taste you get from all of the worst Chinese food places. The other is that it is a CASH ONLY (or check for that matter but, checks in this day and age?). HOWEVER, the rest of the food is thoughtfully made with additional ingredients you don't typically see in normal average Chinese places. I also can't find any fault with the owners, they are very nice. I love when they are in the back speaking Chinese while you are enjoying your nice and very hot meal. If you have to choose from the China Garden in Knox or the Dragon Express in Plymouth, hands down it is worth the drive to China House in Walkerton!!!

This place can be hit or miss. A few things you should know is that it is CASH ONLY, which is a bit offputting nowadays; and avoid the fried rice. The rest of what I got was good though. If I return, I'll try to swap out the fried rice for white rice if they allow it. Edit: went back and got the sweet and sour chicken. It was like $4.80, and was fantastic.

Best small town food around. Huge portions and can modify anything.

I wanted so badly to like this place because it's so close to home, but every time I order anything from here it just tastes horrible. And we're not a picky eaters at all it just tastes like slimy microwaved food. And they never give me noodles when I order chow mein. Which is weird because chow mein is literally just a Chinese dish of fried noodles with your choice of stir in meat. So when I get chicken chow mein I literally just get a container of fried lettuce (yes lettuce idk why), cabbage and chicken. No chow mein with my chow mein?.. I kept giving this place chances but after spending close to 80$ here so far and never liking a single bite I won't be...

We got take out and live right around the corner so "freshness" was not an issue. We eat alot of Chinese and this was our first trying it in our town and will be our last. The beef and broccoli honestly tasted as if someone had spiked the sauce with whiskey. The rice had huge mushrooms yet it had no leeks! Overall it is the worste we have ever ate. Your better off going to panda express than...
