Sunrise House of Pancakes — Restaurant in Walkerton

Alright so let me begin this by saying the food is good and the waitresses are nice and friendly. Now thats out of the way, I can safely say I'll never eat here again, which is quite sad considering the options for lunch in town. I was having lunch here and the health inspector shows up. The woman running the diner started to PANIC and yell at the cooks to put on their gloves...ok so that tells me these guys are back there cooking and handling food with their bare hands and are doing things that aren't on the level. Second I could hear the inspector pointing out all kinds of food that had been left out and was in the "danger zone" and these people were(and will probably continue to) serve up food that had been sitting out that they again prepared with their bare hands. I unfortunately was halfway through my meal or I would have got up and left right there. There was more going on back there but thats enough to push me away from this establishment. Will not eat here ever again. If you don't even have the decency to prepare my food with gloves you do NOT deserve...

This was our first visit to this restuarant this morning. The wait staff seemed stressed as the cook was constantly hitting the bell and speaking very loudly. It was hard to have a conversation. My daughter didn't eat her omelet, the cheese was burnt folded inside. Her pancakes were really good and fluffy and sweet. My son liked his burger and fries. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. My biscuits and gravy were tasteless. My eggs and bacon were good however my French toast was very garlicky on a couple bites.... very odd. My husband had pork chops and eggs and hashbrowns and toast. Ive not seen hashbrowns made of sliced potatoes before, not very crispy.. anyways... the menu was very large and plenty to choose from. Just not pleased with the quality but the quantity was large and priced fairly. Might give it another try... maybe for lunch foods...

I dont want to give them 3 stars... They have two cooks that I know of. When I stop by in the beginning of the week, the poor cook is also the waiter. There is no waitress to help him out. I have seen one on their working cycle, but this one, monday Tuesday, she was in her car, doing make-up, on her phone. By the time she comes in I'm about done. The other waitresses that work later in the week are great!! Good service, good vibes, good environment, good cook as well. Just that the food can't be perfect with the cook running the entire shop!! It's common sense. She must be the owner's daughter or something to act that entitled. The cook has to remake the food cause he is running around doing everything. I feel bad for him .
