My girlfriend and I decided to try this place for dinner. We went on Wednesday night, this place was fairly busy but we were seated immediately. We ordered a fried fish sandwich and the northern dog. The fish sandwich was barely okay, it was served on a hoagie roll with soft lettuce, flavorless tomatoes and almost no sauce. The fish was unoffensive but far from good and the lack of sauce made it dry and difficult to eat. The hot dog was better, we found the sourcrout and onion jam pretty good. The hotdog itself was pretty flavorful and the toppings paired nicely. The fries served with our meal were also just alright not bad but very forgettable. We decided to take home the mac and cheese burger with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were disappointing they had no seasoning and were served soft and crunch-less. The fries also came with no sauce which was expected. The waffle mac and cheese burger was not good even as a novelty. The waffle was so soft and did not function as a bun. The mac and cheese tasted like Stouffers. The burger patty was slightly overcooked and bland. The bacon was alright, but the burger was again sauceless, bone dry and difficult to eat.
Ultimately I feel bad writing this review, but I feel it should be said. Our waiter was very courteous, but he was so high it was hard to feel comfortable. The beach theme of this place doesn't make sense. I've heard they will start serving mixed drinks when they obtain the necessary permits. Maybe the mixed drinks will explain the beach theme because the menu and location definitely doesn't. Seeing the remodel and the money that was put in to this building it's hard to understand why the food is so mid. We may have just come on a bad night but I really doubt we...
Read moreOk. Had high hopes from the positive reviews. We stopped by Saturday after hiking nearby and were starving. We ordered two Angus Steak burgers since the regular burgers were only available well done? Probably frozen is why. The Angus steak burgers had great flavor and buns were good. Where I have issue is the Queso and chips, $8 for stale chips and the absolute smallest ramekin of cheese I've ever seen. When I see queso, I picture the cheeae and salsa variety that has a liquid consistency. This was just cheeae and hardened up quickly. Barely enough for 1/3 of the nachos so we asked for salsa to at least finish the stale $8 Chips but the server said they don't have any? In retrospect, should have gotten fries. But that would have made these burgers with fries $15 & $16 with the $2 adder for fries. Not worth it....I don't mind paying for good meals. But a $33 tab for 2 burgers and stale chips isn't going bring me back. Those prices are off for a place of this caliber....shame, really wanted to...
Read moreUPDATE: since my last time here and now the place seems to have dropped off dramatically. The food once allergy free for me now caused a severe reaction, likely due to being a cheaper version of the bread, they played rather loud music and the flashing lights of the two arcade games and one giant gumball machine were hard to ignore, as well as the swinging hinged door less than 5 feet from our table that the server repeatedly kicked open and let swing, sending a gust of cold air our way every time. The prices have also gone up and sadly the quality didn't follow.
This place was fantastic! The service staff was kind and efficient. When asked if their bread contained a certain allergy for me the server took a picture of the ingredients list and brought it to me so I could check and be doubly sure. They were very understanding and attentive and the food was phenomenal! Everything was cooked wonderfully and I'd highly recommend the jalapeño poppers and fried...
