I've driven past Teresa's Restaurant dozens of times over the years on my way going to or from various places in Massachusetts. I'd even taken notice of it at those times thinking it looked intriguing, and that some day I might stop in if the timing was right. We were on our way home from Rose32 Bread (a real hidden gem BTW), in Hardwick, and decided to stop for a bite to eat. It was late lunch time but we were pretty hungry and ready to chow down. I ordered the tortellini soup which was more than a little disappointing. It had an ok broth, but not an over abundance of tortellini, and absolutely nothing else. No chicken, no veggies, nothing. Not off to a good start. Things began to look up when the small warm rolls they served instead of bread, came to the table, along with warm olive oil generously flavored with garlic. They were really perfect with this meal, and a nice departure from the usual Italian bread. Our garden salads were nicely presented, with a reasonable amount of lettuce, tomato, onion & cucumber, along with a very generous amount of blue cheese dressing. I ordered the ziti with meat sauce and Italian sausage, while my fellow diner had the stuffed shells. She tried hers while I finished up my salad. She exclaimed that the sauce was wonderful. I agreed whole-heartedly once I sampled my pasta. The sauce was definitely the star of this show. Not too spicy, and not a hint of bitterness. Mildly sweet, the sauce was excellent. Mine had meat sauce that had lots of nice, big pieces of ground beef in it. I didn't realize until I was well into the dish, that there wasn't any sausage in the dish. I mentioned it when our server came to box up our leftovers to take home. She apologized, and said the sausage was in the container with the take-home, and was deducted from the check. Very nice of them to do that. Except for the anemic tortellini soup, this would have easily rated five stars. Service was very attentive. I've really got to thank Don P for giving me the incentive to go out of my way to give this hidden gem Italian Restaurant a shot. It's more than a little out of the way for me (like 75 miles).

I went to the Legends Live show on December 10th which was held in the back area of Teresa's Restaurant. In the parking lot all I could smell was a very strong sewer smell. I would figure they woukd pump their sewer system and have the aroma of food to bring in customers to the restaurant. At the show a "6 course meal" was being brought in parts every 20 minutes or so. For me the best part of the "course" was the salad, the italian dressing was delicious and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. The Prime Rib had Marsala sauce (Mushrooms) which I personally didn't like. I usually eat Prime Rib with Au Jus. The stuffed chicken was bland in my opinion. I also went to the bar section and asked for a Kamikaze and was asked what is that? And how to make it. I would figure that as experienced bartenders they would know most drink especially one as common as a Kamikaze. I personally wouldn't go back to eat here.

I have never written a review before but I am so upset after having paid $25 for a fisherman’s platter and having received such small portions of everything, a piece of fish barely the size of my palm, 3 shrimp, 4 scallops and what looks like leftover crumbs that are rubbery and almost inedible. Everything in the platter is soggy like it was made and sitting out for an hour or so, this truly is a disappointment.

Let me first start off by saying if I were to simply rate the quality & portion size of the food from here, I would be giving 5 stars! The food is very delicious, always fresh & hot, with plentiful portions...however, I do have a few negative things to add. I try to leave the most accurate & honest reviews possible, so to help others. I have sat down & ate in Teresa's restaurant many times & was satisfied with the overall service & our meals. However, take out is not always as excellent. Please read on. I almost always order the Chicken Marsala meal, which is chicken breast pieces & mushrooms, served over your choice of pasta with a wonderful Marsala sauce. Again, when ordering this to eat in the restaurant, it's been most delightful! I have twice ordered this for take out both times within the past 6 months & rather than receive the chicken/mushrooms over pasta with Marsala sauce, I was given 2 separate containers, one including the chicken/mushrooms in the Marsala sauce, then a separate container with pasta that had mistakenly been covered in a red spaghetti sauce. This is not what I ordered! Nor is this how the meal is typically served @ this establishment. I had expected my chicken/mushrooms with Marsala sauce over pasta, not with added red sauce. Just incase you didn't know, spaghetti sauce & Marsala are very different sauces (and though both are good) they definitely don't go together!!! If there wasn't enough room in one container for the meal, they still could've had two separate containers, but should have had pasta with Marsala sauce in one, not spaghetti sauce. Or seeing as how the chicken/mushrooms come with plenty of Marsala sauce, even plain pasta to mix in would've been just fine. But not spaghetti sauce. If I had wanted red sauce, I would've ordered it. This happened twice & I was very disappointed, seeing as I've had this meal in the restaurant several times & never had this error occur. Also upon receiving take out, our rolls came very hard (break your teeth, rock hard!) & cold without any butter. We were also not given any cutlery with our meals, or any napkins! Not happy with that either, seeing as we had wanted to eat in the car. Also the gentleman who took my order over the phone sounded absolutely miserable & cold. This was around 7pm last night (11/22/20). If you work with the public, it wouldn't help to be a tad cordial to your paying customers!!! I'm sorry if it's Sunday night & you'd rather be home than working, I get it, but not my problem. I'm not saying you need to be overly cheery or enthusiastic about taking orders, but a little kindness goes a long way. Their pizza is also good, but whomever took the phone orders could use an attitude improvement. Thanks for letting me share. Worth it? Absolutely. Take out? Yes, but be clear about what you want & always check your order before leaving this place for accuracy. Staff? Mostly friendly. Price? Somewhat costly, depending on what you order... but still considered reasonable & well worth it because of the taste & large portions. We always have...

Teresa's Restaurant is an excellent restaurant and makes delicious food. We ordered from the appetizer menu and the portions are plenty filling. We ordered the four meatballs with a side dish of spaghetti and Calamari. The rolls are freshly made served with butter and garlic oil. Their salads are made fresh and never wilted. Everything on the menu from Pizza, Chicken, Steak, Seafood, Sauteed Vegetables, Salads, Grinders, Pasta, Beef, Veal is excellent. My favorite is Baked Stuffed Shrimp. There is a variety of beverages from Soda, Tea, Coffee, or order Wine, Beer or a mixed drink from the bar. There is a bar sitting area with TV's. They also serve children's portions. For dessert have Tiramisu, Cannoli, Cheesecake or Spumoni. We have never had a bad experience and enjoy Teresa's Restaurant. My family has been going to Teresa's since the 80's. After weekend camping in Barre we would have a Sunday night Pizza dinner here. The waitress service is friendly and attentive so tip them well. You can dine in or get take out. There is ample parking and the restaurant is clean and cared for. Teresa' s Restaurant does not disappoint so go and enjoy a home cooked meal....
