It’s too bad. It is to bad because this place has good food and a classic cozy interior. First off 1. You have to order your drinks and your meal basically everything as soon as you walk in standing up just as you walk into through the doors. What happen to either be seated or take your own seat, relaxing with a cup of coffee and looking through the menu. I get they want to pump out the food faster, but this is only to get you out faster and someone else seated, not to provide you with food sooner. With breakfast being $20 plus now a days with food and coffee. It would be nice to relax and enjoy your time and meal with your hard earn money. We were there on veterans weekend during the morning before the parade. Two people walked in, in full Revolution clothing most likely volunteers for the parade. They came in to use the bathroom and walk by the silly process of ordering your drinks and food while standing in a line. On their way through the dinning area they were yelled (screamed) at by the owner, who is a pretty sweet man, but obviously has zero touch on life these folks had giant hats on. And be littled them stating no ones seats themselves before ordering food and drinks and to get back here. When I say he screamed I mean he screamed, made a child cry and the whole place to turn and look at the situation and made everyone feel uncomfortable. Not a place I want to take my family from a hustle and bustling week at work to be hustled and see folks especially those who served it volunteering to be yelled...
Read moreWe’ve love to go out for breakfast and have tried all the places in Wareham. We have been to the Cranberry Cottage several times. Every time we had great food and the service was excellent even on a busy weekend morning, the waitresses were great. Today we actually walked out of the restaurant because our waitress ignored us. We arrived and there were plenty of tables to choose, we sat down and waited for the waitress. We waited, waited and then the waitress came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. We asked for ice water and then proceeded to ask if we can order now. She took our drink order and said she would be back. Never once acknowledged that we were ready to order. She went to the front of the house and proceeded to chat with customers. Finally she came back to the dining room and then started cleaning tables. No water delivered and again no order being taken. Not wanting to make a scene we got up and left. The waitress in question saw us leaving. We were very disappointed with the service we received. We usually get the same waitress and really appreciate her work style and ability to do her job and make it look effortless. I don’t usually leave negative review but this establishment has great food, is clean and the owners seem very nice. I think they should how we...
Read moreCranberry Cottage has the best breakfast in Wareham. The restaurant is clean, with happy, smiling owners and staff. Great food. I eat there every day!
NOW - please note: there is a one-star review posted around November 17, 2023 by a William Smith. I believe that Mr. Smith meant to review the Riverside Cafe on Main St. OOPS! I believe this because of Mr. Smith's specific remarks: 1) a man at the front of the house allegedly yelled at him (the men and the male owner - who is Asian - all work in the kitchen and this behavior is EXACTLY what the tall older white guy does at Riverside), 2) he stated that he had to order before sitting down. This is only done at Riverside. Cranberry Cottage ALWAYS takes your order at your table, and 3) he stated the the parade participants had to walk through the restaurant to use the bathroom (eliciting screams from the man). At Cranberry Cottage, the restrooms are near the front door. The bathrooms at Riverside are beyond the dining room.
So, if Mr. Smith is reading this, perhaps you could remove this mistaken review and post it for Riverside Cafe on Main St. BTW - I no longer eat at Riverside Cafe because of this particular mean man.
And Google, I wish I coud have found an appropriate way to "report" this mistaken...
