Sweet Dreams Bakery — Restaurant in Warren

With my daughter's baby shower coming up in a month and a half, we're looking into dessert tray options. Sweet Dreams bite size pastries have been brought into my work place on multiple occasions and were always top-notch, so it was the first place that came to mind. I walked in yesterday to inquire (the door makes noise when entering) only see two employees standing with their backs to the counter. It appeared they were filling out an order possibly, but neither looked up or acknowledged my presence. Figuring they would notice me in a minute or so, I walked over to the bite size case to view my options. They were just as beautiful as I remembered and was looking forward to discussing what size trays they offered, pricing, etc. A male employee came out from the kitchen, looked right at me, said nothing, and walked to where the 2 women were standing, joining in their conversation. I waited a couple more minutes before walking towards the door when suddenly one looked up and smiled. I told her what had just happened and was told that they never heard me. I left disappointed because now I'll have to rely on other people's recommendations. Quality 5 stars, service -1 star

I wanted to update my review of this establishment after receiving a sincere apology from the owner who was very proactive in getting to the roof of the problem during my initial visit, including a willingness to view camera footage. They showed me that they did not want to lose me as a customer encouraged me to give them another chance. I returned yesterday, August 12th, to place my order for the upcoming baby shower and was assisted by Jocelyn, who was absolutely awesome. She was extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and a joy to work with. My daughter was given some samples of the pastries to try, and all she could say was "what a great find!". Thank you Sweet Dreams for righting the previous wrong. ...

Get their cakes and such but I do NOT recommend getting your wedding cakes done by them.

My family has come to sweet dreams for their pastries and cakes for over 20years. It’s actually become a tradition for my siblings to get our wedding cakes from here! Every wedding cake that my siblings got were elegant and beautiful…..until my wedding. I was extremely excited to get my cake and then was immediately and extremely disappointed. I came in for a consultation and was told that what I had wanted was easy to do and could be done. Thankfully I picked up my cake the day before my wedding because to my surprise and in UTTER SHOCK, what I was seeing was NOTHING like what I was promised. Talking on the phone with the staff because the manager for some reason didn’t want to speak to me directly, which I thought was quite unprofessional since I was paying for their services, told me I couldn’t get a discount or anything because it was just the whipping cream that was the issue. To me, it wasn’t just the issue. The issue was promising me something that couldn’t be done and then looking at the cake and thinking that it would suitable for a wedding. I had them remove everything and make the whipping smooth over so that I could get the cake decorated by someone else. Thankfully, my niece is a brilliant florist and she made it beautiful.

VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have been buying from sweet dreams for years now and have never had a bad experience until now. I wanted to order a birthday cake from them and I was Very excited about my party and ordering a large cake from them since all I have ever had was their individual pre-made cakes. However, When I called to pre order my chocolate rum cake and schedule a pick up date I was very surprised when I asked the lady if instead of chocolate batter if I would be able to have Vanilla batter instead and was told No. Which I did not understand since she told me the cakes were not pre-made when you placed an order and they only have chocolate or vanilla batter. When I explained my confusion to the lady on why if you only make two batters wouldnt they be interchangeable she told me she has been in business for twenty some odd years and she knew what would taste best. To say the least I was very upset that I am willing to pay my money in this economy but not have the cake made the way I want. I also did not see the logic behind being unwilling to switch batter when you only have two flavors of batter. I do not believe it is GOOD customer service to deny a reasonable request and I was extremely disappointed in my experience and their unwillingness to work with...
