I recently tried Lady Apsara Take Out — Cambodian & Vietnamese Street Food. Lady Apsara is a family-owned and operated restaurant with minimal seating inside. It operates primarily, as its name states, as a take-out venue. The exterior of Lady Apsara looks like a small house on the westside of State Road 15, just past Jimmy John's but well-before Buffalo Wild Wings.
I went with a friend. I had the...
BUDDHA SHRIMP NOODLE W/ CHICKEN Extra large shrimp, wide rice noodle in sriracha sauce with carrots, peppers and egg. *Choice beef or chicken to add to the noodle stir fry.
I also had a lychee Sprite to drink. My friend had Lady Apsara's GO-LICIOUS Salad...
GO-LICIOUS SALAD Vietnamese rice noodle salad has fresh lettuce, cucumbers, bean sprouts and home style pickled veggies with a "zingy" dressing. Comes with grilled pork, shrimp and pork egg rolls.
He had a Thai Tea with his meal. The salad looked really great, and I may get that next time. However, I really enjoyed my Buddha Shrimp Noodle dish, and it turned into two meals. It's a lot, and heavy — I only ate half for lunch and took the rest home for dinner later that evening.
I have been told since I visited, that I need to try their Bahn Mi and their excellent Dry Pho. I've never heard of dry Pho before, but I'm curious to try — it's called Vietnamese Pho Kho on their menu and is described as follows:
VIENTAMESE PHO KHO Experience the full chew of the rice noodles, the crunch of the fresh veggies, and savoryness of the special sauce all in one bite. Take a sip of the broth served on the side and take your tastebuds on an adventure you will want time and time again.
Before ultimately ordering the Buddha Noodles, I almost went their skewers...
KHMER CHICKEN, BEEF OR PORK BOX 2 Skewers of your choice, served with hainanese rice topped with crispy shallots and scallions. On the side we have 2 pork egg rolls, sweet and sour, pickle veggies, and the golden sauce.
Also, while we were there. A mother and daughter picked up takeout, and they ordered one of everything from the menu to take back to their family waiting at a summer cottage on Tippecanoe Lake. They walked out with ten drinks and at least five plastic bags ready to bust with takeout boxes.
I highly recommend checking out Lady Apsara. Try their wonderful offerings and support the family-owned and operated local business.
*Four of the photos were taken with my phone, another was taken by my friend, and I pulled the sixth image from Lady Apsara's Facebook page. The Buddha Noodles, GO-LICIOUS Salad, lychee Sprite...
Read moreCreeping to 4.3 ⭐️ and I'll lay it down for you... On business in Warsaw, IN, I'm ready to try familiar cuisines in unfamiliar places. This one has very good reviews so I check them out. Now I'm not rating them for dine-in because I did take out. It is a small but decent setting while looks to be a very small house converted into a "restaurant". On with the show... very limited menu with only 2 Pho options. I chose the number 1 option. Now I really enjoy Pho and I've tried different places in different states. I guess the great reviews come in at the lack of Pho restaurants in the area. While it was a good portion size bowl, it had too many noodles and could've used just alittle more meat, cilantro and basil. Having 2 pieces of shrimp made me giggle a bit. The flavors were there and the broth tasted really good as well. I also ordered spring rolls and a sugar cane drink with lemon and ginger. The spring rolls were good and big but it was because it was packed with noodles (again). It also had bits of cucumber which I've never had in a spring roll but I didn't care for it, so I removed them. The 'homemade' peanut sauce was more of a paste texture but it was just ok - and it didn't have pieces of peanuts which I'm used to seeing/having. The sugar cane drink was ok and also very small for a $7 drink. The lemon was too strong and overpowered the already weak sugar cane taste and the ginger was nonexistent. Overall, it's has potential and offer great service but not hitting a...

My wife & I do things the hard way not the cheap or easy route in our own restaurant's food offerings so I'll probably never get rich but I truly hope that we've made a lot of people happy along the way. 😉
Am I all knowing all seeing... no... but... I was traveling an hour from home I as on my way to get Thai food at a restaurantI I'd remembered from years before & noticed this place.
They offer Cambodian & Vietnamese street food & the place is spotless clean, both ladies super nice to chat with & food is very good ! 👍
I had Hainese chicken stock cooked rice with 2 meat skewers & a few fried pork egg rolls... ALL were good ! *(Rice takes me back to great memories of my typical rice breakfast in Thailand called Khao Man Gai) & that's a GREAT THING 👍
Things were cooked & prepared by someone who actually CARES... fried egg rolls placed in box on parchment paper & lots of vent holes added to try to preserve the crispness. 👍
Come on by & eat... odds are this'll be your favorite new local spot. ❤️
Thank you ladies for a great lunch!
