The Alice Faye Cafe — Restaurant in Wartburg

We so badly wanted to like this place but were definitely let down. Everything there is frozen- not made fresh. Nothing is real food here. The chicken tenders are like Tyson patties and not real chicken. The apps and sides are all from a bag. The hamburgers are frozen patties that have several hard parts throughout and ya have to spit out every bite. Corn nuggets are frozen from Gordons food supply, which I'm pretty sure is where they get 99% of their food from and just throw it in a fryer and overcharge you for it. If I wanted frozen walmart or Gordon's items, i would not be going out to eat and paying triple for them when I could easily make them at home. The dessert was absolutely horrible, not trying to be mean, just honest. They do not match their stated descriptions. And the service is slow as slow can get, and the orders were wrong and had to be fixed. Then the 2nd time we tried this place, when we took the processed burgers back and asked for our $ back, they were very rude about it and made us feel bad. We will never eat here again, and something tells me they will not be open long. The prices DO NOT match the poor serving sizes and cheap, processed food. $70+ for a family of 4? In Wartburg? For fake, processed, frozen food? No thanks. Not sure why people think they can just open a restaurant and buy a bunch of pre-made frozen items to serve and actually call it a diner. I decided to get a to go order on my way home from work (I work third shift) because I didn’t want breakfast and they start lunch at 10. Having been a server for 20 years I never go by other reviews, I should have this time. I ordered a baked potato because it sounded good and you can’t mess up a baked potato right? Well they did it wasn’t a baked potato at all, it was a very obviously microwaved potato that wasso spongy it couldn’t be eaten at all, literally there was no salvaging any of it. I got my fiancée a wrap and it was so greasy he couldn’t eat it. I got the four sampler (mozzarella sticks, corn nuggets, fried pickles, jalapeño poppers) and idk if they haven’t changed their grease or what but it was just bad my dog didn’t even beg like she normally does. I had a really disappointing experience at this new restaurant. I was told there would be a 15-minute wait, but ended up waiting 45 minutes after I arrived, even though mine was the only order in at the time. When I finally got the food, I was met with excuses instead of accountability.

To make things worse, part of my order was missing when I got back to work. It’s clear the staff is mostly teenagers with no experienced adult supervision, and it shows. Mistakes happen, but this was a combination of poor communication, long delays, and careless service.
