This experience is specific to the location in Schaefferstown, Pa. Ordered takeout. Upon pick-up at the time provided, order was not ready. Witnessed an employee taking money at the register and proceed to making food without washing his hands. Once we got home we noticed the order was not correct, as ordered. Called the restaurant and the kid who answered the phone said let me get my dad, assuming the owner. Unknown if the kid is of legal working age. The "owner" told us on the phone he has customers and didn't have time that he will just give a credit for a future order or we could go back to get a refund and have it remade. We went back to have it remade. The "owner" still said he would give the money back and told us we keep what was given. We asked if he had the grilled shrimp for the Mediterranean salad as it stated on the menu (they originally put 2 fried shrimp with lots of breading on instead). He continued to disregard the question. We would've just liked the salads to be remade as ordered. He avoided and ignored the question repeating himself saying in an escalated tone the same thing over and over about refunding the money. We agreed to that and said we will no longer do business there. Almost everytime we order from there, it comes wrong. Very disappointing. He laughed and said he doesn't need our business, he has multiple businesses around to make his money. Once he provided the refund we grabbed the salads that were not made correctly, including not having the missing extra cost items. In that moment, he changed his mind that we couldn't take the salads and threatened to call the police. Instead of leaving, I should've said go ahead and waited for the police to arrive because they were commiting fraud by not providing orders as they advertise and also taking extra money from customers. It's unfortunate there are corrupt "business" owners like this that take advantage of people/paying customers. Overall, I would not recommend this pizzeria for the terrible service, disrespectful customer service, and poor hygiene handling money then making food without washing hands or wearing gloves. If you choose to order from there, watch how they operate and how they are cross contaminating when making your food. To them your just money. They don't care about the quality of their products going out the door. This wasn't the first terrible experience, but it's time to advocate and speak up for our experiences. Maybe undercover inspectors need to pay...
Read moreAbsolutely DELICIOUS Pizza!! I found myself out this way when I typically never am, and was starving. I know I like the Caruso's near me, so I stopped here for a slice. The atmosphere is beautiful, not what I was expecting. I was nervous bc typically the shops I go to have their slices out on the counter and I can just pick & choose. The misses behind the counter explained that they have cheese pizza in the back & they just add the toppings per request. I got 1 slice of Buffalo chicken with ranch drizzled, and a slice of pesto. I bit into the pesto first and THE CRUNCH! from the crust was amazing, I literally felt my heart flutter 😅😆 Finished that, started on my buffalo chicken. Fresh, generous portions of chicken on another crunchy but not over cooked crust. I loved Caruso's already, but I could see myself driving out of the way for whoever these chefs are. SO SATISFYING 😃 & to top it all off, I'm pretty sure they gave me an extra slice! Idk if it was because they were closing soon, or I just looked pathetic bc I was so hungry LOL jk. Either way, this is a great spot for pizza and by the way the crust was cooked, I bet everything else is...
Read moreStopped in this past Saturday, September 30 with my wife and three children. Food was amazing. Service was even better. When we came in our waitress was very kind and attentive to us. She was friendly and completed a great lunch experience at Carusos. We ordered a pizza for the kids, eggplant Parm and sausage Parm sandwiches for us. Food came out fast and tasted great. Pizza was perfectly crunchy with no flop. Definitely a legit candidate for a one bite review. For me it’s the little things that make me want to come back to a restaurant. Their use of homemade bread on the sandwiches were a home run. If I lived closer I would be in there every night. I know I should’ve taken a couple of pictures but honestly, the food looked and smelled so good when it came out I didn’t even have time for a picture. I wish I could remember our waitresses name but if you read...
