First of all, I take no pleasure in writing a negative review. Most business owners I know work long and hard to ensure that their businesses exceed expectations. This one, unfortunately, fell far short. My wife and I had been looking forward to a nice getaway at the Inn at St. Peters Village. While checking in, we asked "So what time is breakfast?" "Oh, we don't do that anymore" (in spite of the fact that their website clearly says "Welcome to our Bed and Breakfast"). The hostess went on to inform us that there was a nice bakery next door where we could get some breakfast, but that they don't open until 9 a.m. Right, okay. We figured we could live with that. Next was the room - the Veranda Room - which we specifically chose in anticipation of entertaining two other couples following a birthday dinner at the restaurant downstairs. So, the veranda. The walls and ceiling were covered in what looked like several months' worth of dirt and cobwebs. There was road grit and debris all over the floor, which obviously had not been swept in quite some time. We even had to clean the chairs before we could sit in them. But again, not the end of the world, right? So, having said farewell to our friends, we looked forward to a good night's sleep in what looked like a nice, comfortable bed. Upon pulling back the bedspread, we were dismayed to find no top sheet on the bed! My wife and I looked at each and said "You've got to be joking. Who makes a bed and doesn't put a top sheet on it?" By this time it was close to midnight and all the staff had gone home. So I roamed the hallways in hopes of locating a utility closet where I might find some sheets. No luck. We ended up grabbing some towels from the bathroom and pretended they were sheets. Needless to say, we spent a very uncomfortable night. I won't even mention the paint peeling off the walls, the filthy carpets, the lamp that didn't work (no bulb!). All in all, the best part about our stay at the Inn at St. Peters Village was seeing it fade from view in our rear-view mirror. Epilogue: upon arriving back home, we called the manager of the inn to discuss some of the things we had experienced. She said she would pass our concerns on to the owner. The owner never got back to us. We called the manager again. Still no return call from the owner. We asked about the possibility of a small compensation for all the inconvenience we had experienced. She said "I don't think that's going to happen". We can only conclude that the owner just doesn't care.

I wish I could say it was a quaint, relaxing place, but unfortunately it was terribly dirty! My husband worked hard to surprise me for a night away for my birthday at this cute little village. We had visited there years before but the inn wasn’t open. He looked online, the rooms looked nice, and booked it. What the rooms look like online and how they are is VERY different! Our room was DIRTY. The walls were dark with dirt, the desk had a very visible layer of dust on it, there were tons of stains on the carpet, no batteries in the smoke detector, construction on the wall, and last but not least, HAIR on the bed. Not once or twice, but so noticeable that the lady checking us in picked off a piece on the pillowcase! The sheets and comforter were VERY worn and pilled. I wanted this to be a great experience, and we debated staying for a few minutes but were too grossed out to stay comfortably. It’s really a shame because it has great potential, but it really hasn’t been kept up with. A person in charge did refund my husband without so much as an argument, as I feel they’ve heard this before unfortunately. Also. You check in at the bar, which seemed kind of odd. There seems to be no care or effort put into this place, which is a real shame. PLEASE do NOT spend your money!

Hard depicting in words the simplicity and picturesque of this inn and its surroundings. Got lost on a road trip on the boring 4th of July...Going nowhere, when I ended up on St. Peter's Road. Spotted this Inn with restaurant down the road. The outdoor terrace reminds me of the Greek tavernas by the shores. Lovely, welcoming staff, nice variety of food in the menu, clean, fast serving. The food was beyong expectations. The loaded potatoes were divine, and the salad's dressing was homemade. Everything was delicious. Nora Jones's "Turn me on" song or country music ones playing in the background were just the right touch for this peaceful bonding with the ambient. My server, Casey, was sweet and helpul, displaying a wonderful customer service skill - not invasive, but showing care. The bonus for this fascinating inn/restaurant are the weekly bands and shows on the premises, schedule displayed on each table. An even stronger reason to come spend 2 fantastic hours. For this lovely experience and memories I would like to give credit where credit is due. I heartedly and highly recommend this restaurant. I guess I will have to try the hospitality of the inn too. Best regards R

Place was clean - mother in law ordered the fish tacos and husband ordered the salmon, which they enjoyed. I ordered steak and it wasn't bad but wouldn't order again. We ordered an appetizer before ordering our entree, and it never came out. When we received our entrees, I asked the waitress, and said if they started making it they can just bring it out, no big deal. She said yes they did start and she will bring it, then gave me a very rude look as she walked away, and several other times was not pleasant during the dinner. We finished our dinner and the appetizer still never came. Mother in law also never received a refill of her drink or extra napkins that she asked for. I asked for the check and for the appetizer, goat cheese crostini, to be taken off the bill. She said they already started making it, and I repeated that we never received it and our dinner is finished at this point. She said ok and went to get the check. She returned and said they could not remove the appetizer and we would have to pay for it. Completely ridiculous as we asked twice about this, never received it, and have now finished our dinner. Appetizers are for before your meal, not after. We paid for the appetizer and took it in a to go box, which the crostini would be soggy by the time we ate it at home. Regardless, they forgetfulness and lack of service should have been enough to get the appetizer off the bill. Don't know if it was the waitress's error or the kitchen, so still tipped $15 - 18% instead of 20%. We will not...

This place has so much potential which is unfortunately wasted due to poor management. 3 months ago I contacted the Inn about hosting my wedding reception of 40 guests on the back porch overlooking the river. The manager told me that yes, they host events and the date was available! She told me the owner was restructuring event pricing but to call back for details in a week. I called back every week for the next month, leaving my number and contact information and was always assured they would call me with more information soon. I paused all wedding planning for a month during covid, but when the restaurant reopened I contacted them right away. For the past month I have been calling in regularly, trying to get basic information like pricing, seating, restrictions/allowances for a reception. The manager was unable to answer any of my questions because "the owner takes care of large events." Fine. But she also refused to give me contact info for the owner and instead said he would call me. I have called, emailed, and showed up in person. Never once have I been called back or had any contact with the owner. 3 months from my wedding day I realized I can't handle the stress of working with people who clearly don't care about their customers. If there are issues going on with the owner (there seem to be), you should have just told me...
