Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Waseca

My daughter and I stopped in to get a birthday cake for my husband's birthday tomorrow. All the cakes they had were blank cakes, none said 'Happy Birthday' on them. (We're always last minute cake shoppers!) After speaking with the gentleman at the front counter he mentioned that he may have someone working that would be willing to write 'Happy Birthday' on the cake for us. He went outside and came back in with Nicole, who stated she could write on the cake, but it wouldn't look good because she didn't have good writing. My daughter and I were fine with that, it didn't need to be perfect at all! She went back and wrote 'Happy Birthday' on our cake in green icing, per my daughter's request! We thanked Nicole for being so generous and doing that for us as it was perfect! My daughter and I got into the car and she goes to me, "mom her writing isn't bad at all! She did a great job!" A great job indeed! Great customer service and great writing! Thank you SO much Nicole, we appreciate you helping us out! And thank you to the kind gentleman that worked the counter that was willing to go out and find her for us! Both of you showed exceptional customer service...

Honestly one of the most humiliating experiences at a Dairy Queen tonight (10/28/2023). Pulled in to the drive thru, ordered and made on my merry way to the window. Met with instant judgement at the window. I ordered a blizzard, peanut buster parfait and a pup cup. I didn’t bring the dogs with due to weather conditions and anxiousness. All of the employees didn’t bother to ask why I ordered the pup cup but began to just stare through the window in to my vehicle. You could hear laughing and comments through the drive thru window along with all of them just standing around. Received the order and the pup cup was a mere condiment cup with barely 2oz of soft serve.

Honestly, it’s quite a shame that this is the behavior and attitude which is served from people who (assumingely) live in the community. Take your business elsewhere because this is not it. I told the person taking my order that I had a coupon that was 4.99 for a 4 piece Chocken Strip Basket. She told me my order was 6.40. When I got to the window I handed her the coupon and she told me it was already on the order and my total was 6.40. I paid and asked for my receipt. When I was given the receipt I explained that the coupon was for the meal to be 4.99 not 5.99. She told me yeah I took a dollar off. I showed her the subtotal which was at 5.99 and told her it should be 4.99. She told me that since they dont have a button for the 4.99 coupon this is how her manager told her to ring these coupons up. I asked for my coupon and my money back and they could keep the meal. Just wonder how many people have been ripped off on this...
