The building has an almost rustic feel as there is a lot of wood exposed and provides a very nice atmosphere inside. The rustic aspect is continued on the inside as the wood and beams are exposed and wood is used for the staircase and floors. The bar also fits in with the theme and the entire restaurant fits in nicely with the surrounding area and brings back memories of the previous establishment there. The lines are long at all hours and can reach upwards of an hour and even longer during the lunch and dinner rush. I chose to go at eight at night to try and avoid the heavy dinner rush from all those trying to get in for the opening week. Despite having a reservation we still had about a fifteen minute wait which can be expected at a popular and new establishment. Luckily the restaurant has a bar that patrons can spend their time at in order to kill the time until their table is ready. The bartenders were friendly and took our drink order without making us wait long. Perfection was not expected from the staff and restaurant as a whole in the first few weeks but the bartenders had to read the recipe for every drink that was ordered despite them all being on the menu. The drinks came out a little weak but the overall flavor was not bad and the selection of local craft beers was very good. Despite the size of the building the amount of seating in the downstairs section is lackluster and could be increased. The upper section seemed to have a few more but the space could have been better occupied and the seats spread out in a better fashion. The restaurant was very noisy as the large number of patrons all conversed. The high ceilings did not help as the sound seemed to bounce off and increase in volume which made conversation a little challenging and when someone orders the flight of beers it becomes even louder. Once this specialty is being brought out a staff member continuously blows a whistle which becomes annoying after the second time. After we were seated our server came over and you could tell she was inexperienced as she forgot to tell us her name but she was very nice and helpful. The staff are mostly young high school students and all seem inexperienced as they made mistakes here and there. The menu selection was very nice and the specialties were very interesting. They offer a burger of the month which is unique and something that I will have to come back to try. There is a variety of appetizers to choose from and they vary on size and taste as well. The buffalo cauliflower was a delicious choice and was loved by everyone I was with. It is definitely something I would order again the next time I come and a dish I highly recommend. Then there are countless entrees and a selection of salads to choose from for those not interested in a burger which is their specialty. As the name suggests the burgers are the primary meal for the restaurant and they did not disappoint. Although a bit pricey for a burger the unique sauces and toppings used added to the overall flavor and made them worth every penny. The Chipotle Bison Burger was topped with candied bacon, boom-boom sauce, chihuahua cheese, and baby arugula on an ACE classic bun. The burger was cooked to perfection and provided a unique specialty to a normal burger. The OMG Burger is their classic and also proved to be delicious and live up to the expectations. Topped with their own OMG sauce the burger was very good and was a nice contrast to the classic burger. If you still have room after the delicious meal, they have an extensive dessert menu full of amazing choices. From the chocolate peanut butter pie to the turtle molten Bundt you can’t go wrong with any of their...
Read moreOMG!, WHAT A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! My son and I both ordered their signature OMG burger medium well (at $14 each with no sides!). The burgers were burnt on the outside, so there was that bitter burnt charcoal taste. I thought it was just my burger, but my son actually commented on the bitter burnt taste before I could mention it. And both inside was cooked medium rare (not medium well). My son felt bad that we spent that kind of money for the burgers, so he ate his. But I couldn’t finish mine (that never happens!) because of the burnt charcoal taste. The kicker was the build your own burger (bun, burger, slice of cheese, small piece of lettuce and one slice of tomato — nothing special for $12!) that we ordered to go for my daughter at home. When we got home and saw the burger in better light than the restaurant’s, this burger was also burnt (as in charred black) on the outside, but it was rare and cold on the inside (again, we ordered medium well). I tried it, and it also had that bitter burnt charcoal taste; while some blood was dripping as my daughter bit into it. Needless to say, she took one bite and that was the end of it. It killed me to throw away the burger as I just wasted $12. But we couldn’t eat the burger...it was that bad! Since the burgers did not come with sides, we ordered sweet potato fries ($6) and Brussels sprouts ($8). There was nothing special about them so they are also way overpriced! Bottom line: Burgers were subpar, even if the price would have been only $5. But at OMG’s prices at $11-$15 with no sides, it’s really unacceptable. The sides are also way overpriced as there’s nothing special about them. We spent over $100 (with tip) for a meal for 4. Although I’m ok spending that kind of money for a good meal, our meal at OMG Burger was far from being worth it. We would have been better off going to a local diner or another local establishment for much better tasting burgers (cooked properly as ordered) for a fraction of the price. I hated to put such a negative review since we were really pulling for this place. But given how the burgers were such a big disappointment, we’ll spend our hard earned money elsewhere.
For the positives: The place looks great being a new constructed building. We were told there’s a 45 minute wait, but was seated in about 25 minutes. The hostess and all the servers were prompt and pleasant, and took our orders within 5 minutes of being seated. The chocolate shake was very good. The crab cake sandwich was tasty and a good portion, and probably the best deal here. But if the restaurant has “BURGER” in its name, then the burger should be good. And for the high “gourmet” prices that OMG Burger charges, the burgers should be better than good, it should be excellent. But given how bad the burgers we had, I can’t, in good conscience, recommend eating at OMG Burger and...
Read moreOMG what a disaster, what a disappointment! A classic story of a business that could have been great! But fell extremely short, on their FIRST few full day open.
OVERPRICED OVERPRICED!!! ( EVERYONE agrees we valley folk won’t pay 12 bucks for 8oz. Burger that comes with gross shoprite cold slough.
Let me start with what I liked, the look it’s great, the blue cow head is super ugly, thanks I hate it. the walls also are bare naked, over all look was pretty meh. Next up Staff our server was a nice, but not very good at taking orders. I ordered a super simple build your own burger, which I knew the second I looked at it was risky, menu layout confusing, looks like it went from first draft to done draft. Please fix (I’m sure a few people have commented on it). So I pick the bun, and my 2 toppings bacon and cheddar. Nowadays I do the order repeat, because I know they are only working for a paycheck and they’ll get a better one if I’m happy. So I made sure so say twice CHEDDAR AND BACON ( which is 3.50 extra ridiculous and unacceptable. Do the math almost 15 bucks for just a burger do I get to pick the cold too!?) But there was no hope, the no eye contract, barely writing down, the talking to the waitress that are just trying to do their job. Our drinks came and I got some Oreo shake with booze in it, to be honest it was greatly over priced and definitely more shake then anything. Our orders come out after a really long 33 minute wait (also note here that no one around us had food either that whole time ). My order was all kinds of messed up, candied bacon, and vegan cheese. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking at, I took 3 bites and the sweet hot bacon and gross warm chunky mess was to gross for me to handle.
The dry burger didn’t help, I thought medium meant red. Thankfully I got a refund after the manger/owner did just a eye roll. She didn’t seem to care NOT friendly at all, usually when new business first open and they have a huge mess up the owners come to apologize because they care, she did not.
The French fries- they stuck together and weren’t very good either. I would much rather go to the Chesapeake 30 seconds away for some amazing fries!
The only thing that will keep them open is they have alcohol, and that’s something.
Overall it comes down to your burger and your fries when your burger is no good and your fries not only cost extra but don’t complement well I’ll take my business anywhere else.
The menus were loud and a mess!
