Buzz's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Washington

This was my first and last visit to this establishment. Arrived for lunch. There were approximately 15 customers in the place. Ordered a mushroom Swiss cheeseburger a salad and a Pepsi. Took 35 minutes to receive the burger and the salad. Salad arrived with no salad dressing. Burger arrived open face with no condiments upon it, already cold with the cheese already coagulating . Swiss mushroom burger also had cheddar cheese on it for some reason. Sought out the wait server to request the salad dressing and some mayo for my already getting cold and coagulated burger. 15 minutes before I received the salad dressing, while the salad was sitting in front of me wilting. Burger was already very (disgustingly) cold by then and took another seven minutes for the mayo to arrive for the burger that was served dry with no condiments. Did not eat the burger as by then it was far too cold and dried out. The salad was wilting and soggy by then so I ate about half. Undesirable food. Undesirable service. The female server had an attitude. I asked for a to go box for the burger so I could take it home. (The burger and salad and Pepsi cost over 12 bucks and I wasn’t going to waste it if possible). I indicated to her that it was cold. She walked away from me to another customer and commented against my perception about the cold burger, not realizing that just because I could not read her lips with her mask on, that my dining partner would still tell me what she had just said about me to the other customers. (she indicated to them that I was unreasonable because it wasn’t that bad , meaning the cold coagulated Swiss cheeseburger that arrived with no condiments and cheddar cheese added to it). Wouldn’t recommend it to anybody for any reason. First and last visit is a fail. I gave three stars to appease the desires of my lunch companion as they were the one paying the bill. Had it not been for their request, I would have given one star simply to be able to give...

2021 Update - About once a year write an update on this place purely to post updated pictures of all the new items we have tried in the last year. Same good food - yes Covid raised prices here like everywhere else but I still think it is a good meal for the price. On a positive note, covid caused the expansion of the outdoor space along the water, which I really like - before it was a small patio and mostly used by smokers. Now on a nice day, you can really sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. Probably my favorite food this year is the salads - they are huge and really yummy!

*I have written about this favorite several times buy I wanted to add some new pictures as we have visited more... and tried some new things. This is one of our local favorites and the service and food are always good. Prices have been increasing though so things are not as good of a deal as they used to be... but that has not stopped us from visiting any less. They often have local live music and the vibe here is great. New things we have tried are the nachos, some little chicken balls with cheese, and the quesadilla. All good, but a note about the quesadilla.... there are 2 size options and the price difference is only about $2. The bigger size is bigger than any I have ever seen... not sure where they get the giant tortillas! It is the size of a giant pizza... I took home leftovers and this appetizer ended up being 3...

This little gem is a hidden locals favorite. Situated right on the water, or muddy flats depending on the tide, Buzz's has a deck, seating by the water and a small stage for live music.

The place is not fancy, but it is clean. Wide variety of booze, beer and other beverages.

Now the beat part..... The food is pretty darn good. I have never had a bad meal here. The seafood platter is perfectly fried and priced right of a couple to share. If you decide on an app, try the crab stuffed avocados. They are truly delightful.

Tacos are amazingly flavorful. The nachos are enough to share yet are just average bar nachos. Still worth a try though.

They run specials on the regular. The specials are usually done by 9 or 10ish.

The locals are friendly with a wide variety of people that usually congregate after work and for the live music. It can get pretty busy, but the staff is attentive, friendly and professional.
