My first visit was a mixed bag. I loved that this restaurant was in the neighborhood. I stepped in and the music was very loud, but I did my karaoke thing while waiting on my food. Fish sandwich, coleslaw, and some flavor of lemonade. The ladies were super nice. The fish was almost inedible - salty and a weird taste to the batter. But the coleslaw was delicious and lemonade were delicious. The owner was kinda condescending but that's what goes for customer service these days. Wasn't going to write a review about the fish.
Second visit - I was definitely ordering the coleslaw again but this time with a hot dog. The music was too loud - the cashier and another customer placing an order had to shout. The cook/owner had an attitude or something. I hate going into an AA businesses with the people acting as though they're doing you a favor. Nope! The cashier was super nice, though. But the food was found lacking again. The dog was dry and shriveled up. I didn't upcharge for the cheese and chili which I'm not sure would've helped. Not Nathan's for sure. But the insult to injury was the coleslaw was spoiled. I didn't get sick because I have a cast iron stomach but the health department may need to come through. Somebody need to take a food safetyclass. No date on the container to control inventory and alert the customer....
Read moreThis was our 1st time trying Deanwood Deli. We learned while standing in line that this deli is only a year and 1 month old based on today's date, Friday, August 30, 2024.
This deli is small so you'll have to take your food to go or you can sit outside at the tables when the weather is nice. The service was fast but on the other hand the man that took our order was a complete dust off for me. What I mean by that is, his attitude was not friendly. His attitude reads like "I'm just doing this because I have to pay bills." He didn't smile, make conversation, make suggestions, or anything. The most he said was, "You ordered the best sandwich." It seemed as though he was flustered when we told him that our daughter doesn't eat certain items, so, 86 the mayo and tomato. Our baby usually eats her sandwiches and burgers plain with nothing on them but the meat and cheese. So for her to take only 2 things off is growth for her. LoL!
The lemonade is disgusting!! GaG! I was going back to get something else to drink but my husband gave me his Pepsi to drink and he drank the lemonade. All in all, it was good. I've had much better food at other restaurants. It's worth a 1 time try if you're...

Parking is available with limits, but can be found. The service was fair and the wait time for the food... Long. I was quoted 10 to 15 mins. and I ordered a Ruben w/ chips. . 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱: Nannie Helen Beef Reuben $10 (Chips (DIRTY'S Sriracha Honey) and Soda (Sprite) + $2.50) . As ah person who loves Reuben's, this was definitely not what I expected. I really don't know if it was the sauce that was used that didn't blend well with the sauerkraut, but it had an aftertaste that made it hard for me to enjoy. Again, I love Reuben's so it was ah let down. Da chips were...
