What an unexpected, but delightful find. Coming here from 101 feels like you’re just in a neighborhood until you see a large gate and sign for The Dungeness River Nature Center, which is where you should enter. Hurricane Coffee is tucked in the back of the center.
First, the coffee: solid! We ordered a cortado and a specialty latte. They were good.
But the real showstoppers were the pastries. Oh my goodness. The chocolate brioche donut was perfection (pillowy inside, crisp outside, a rich, dark chocolate ganache with cacao nibs on top — yum!), as were the brown sugar pop tart and danish my friends ordered.
Plus, the nature center is well done, complete with an incredible outdoor bird garden (we saw so many beautiful songbirds while sipping our coffee and chomping baked goods). And you can take a stroll on the railroad bridge, which is lovely.

The coffee shop was such a great spot to go to as you’re treated to the most incredible surprise in the form of an exhibit room, a coho salmon fish tank and that’s not even beginning to mention the great trail and bridge just out back!
