I REALLY love the bar food here! (2/24/17)
However NOT today!!!! 3/2/2017
Updated review in parentheses
(I wrote the review describing my experience on Friday night the 24th! I loved the food so much I came to order food to go today which is March 2 I was in between 130 and 230 my bad!!!!!! I said I ordered the food to go but I left an $11 tip because you're just supposed to do that I think even though you're ordering it to go I did have a drink so I left a good tip the bartender wasn't friendly or anything but she was quick and she did her job well and I assume the food would be the same but it wasn't it was terrible absolutely terrible!
I think the wings are from last night they are so dry and so gross I wasn't certain if they were even cooked until I actually bit into one! Yuck! oh my God health department. They cost 12$ and take a look at my pic... they look raw but I assure u they are so dry and old. This is COMPLETELY A DIFFERENT experience from the 24th. I was so happy with this place as you will read in my review below this update that I would've been a local regular and now I just don't even know what to say it's pretty pathetic I was so happy with what I received on Friday and today this is disgusting somebody needs to take a look at who they have cooking! )
The difference is just too much of a difference they're going to lose customers that would've been the loyal...
Review below was regarding Friday Feb 24th
Im new to the area and I have cravings for fried pickles and buffalo wings...
I have found it often hit and miss with barfood but here's my experience in comparison to my trip into Red Robin for hot wings and fried pickles.....
So actually we came on a very busy Friday night we rarely get any grown-up time away from the kids we have a 14-year-old and a one-year-old and a three-year-old. So at first I was very put off by the security checking IDs at the door I thought this was going to be one of those dive bars that people feel comfortable in. Second I was even more put off by the really really drunk people my parents age doing karaoke but of course it's also fun to watch that so I wasn't sure yet. Then to top it off we sat at the bar for probably 10 to 15 minutes before we were even noticed.
HOWEVER... I felt like they made up for it because the bartender ended up being a really nice guy and my order was taken wrong by a very nice waitress and she admitted that she wrote it down wrong and they fixed it! Which was a surprise to me she didn't have to do that she could've said I ordered it wrong she chose to say it was her mistake and she was sorry!
I ordered fried pickles and ended up with delicious but incredibly spicy fried jalapeños.
They fixed it and the food was incredible. Drinks were perfect atmosphere was nice even though it was people doing drunk karaoke and dancing that were our parents age...but honestly I think it in the end made it really really fun! I haven't smiled so much in probably a month watching them have such a good time I said to my husband were both 34 now I hope when were in our early 60s were just like them!
Now let me just fill you in a little bit on my Red Robin experience I ran in and got fried pickles and wings to go....
OK I didn't even look at it but then when I got home and opened it at the fried pickles were disgusting oversalted some of the fried parts ... I couldn't even bite through it was like rockhard and disgusting!
Just to summarize I paid the same at Red Robin as what I paid at the Junction and I would've paid three times for the food I got at the junction and I would've paid Red Robin to never serve me food again!
Junction sports bar and Grill is awesome I wish that I had somebody around here that I could hire to babysit because my husband and I would love to come at least once a week we just don't have the...
Read moreI've been here a couple of times, it's definitely a small town atmosphere where everyone seems to know everyone. That makes it kind of hard for a newbie to fit in if no one tries to make you feel comfortable. I don't mind watered down drinks, but I do wish the price matched. The food was OK, I don't know if we got it on a bad day, because there are raving reviews about the food, but the pizza crust didn't taste very good and the sauce seems like it was just tomato paste in globs; but they do not skimp on the cheese! I also like their pizza oven, because the meats came out a little crispy which I like, but the Canadian bacon and larger pepperonis stayed soft for those of you who like floppy meat. No judgment here; you be you. I may have received the tourist pricing, because I got their pizza 25% off and it still cost $40 for a pizza and cheese sticks. I made a comment on the Facebook page and they deleted it, which kind of makes me think the locals don't pay that. I'm a local, too, but I guess I'm still looking for a local hangout that is open to newcomers. The homemade cheese sticks are very large, a little overcooked, and more greasy crust than cheese, but still taste good. They come with marinara and ranch, but the ranch was extra watery and the marinara was just a very thick glob of tomato paste without much flavor. I know, I went round and round in my own head with the same thought, one is too thick and one is too thin, I'm insatiable! I witnessed the karaoke once, but I did not participate; no one openly made fun of anyone, but I don't know how different that would be if the singer was not a part of the clique or a bad singer. I also participated in the dance lessons, but that's also difficult if you have never line danced before, because all of the dancers are very good. I would recommend going to watch them dance, but don't plan on participating or learning if you're unskilled. All in all, I see why the regulars really like it there; it's just too bad I wasn't born around here. Update: The owners did reach out to me on social media about this review and pretty much threw a temper tantrum with inaccurate information so I won't go into that, but they did admit to offering different prices for locals. So if you're visiting, try throwing out a story about visiting friends and planning to meet with a realtor to move here, and see if you can't get the better deal. I definitely don't recommend paying $40 for a pizza the kids...
Read moreWent last night 1/20 to see The Bastered Cats. When my husband and I arrived we got a table and then waiting over 15min to get a drink, after waiting my husband went up to the bar to order instead. He was completely ignored by the female bartenders ( bar tender with the tattoos did more bsing with customers then actually pooring drinks and keeping the drinks rolling), the male bar tender got our drink order and brought it to the table along with menus. We both ordered the prime rib specials and a side of mozzarella sticks. Male server/ bartender came back, first problem, didn't have two baked potatos, that's fine mashed potatoes are fine. Came back a second time and told up there is only one special available ( 20min after ordering ). Okay whatever we will do one special and a bacon cheeseburger. The main dishes came out. No mozzarella sticks ( forgot to put them in). The prime rib was good but that's it. Canned green beans and bottom of the barrel mashed potatoes. The burger was dry and had no flavor, the bun was even stale. The mozzarella sticks finally came out, no flavor it was a cheese stick with panko bread crumbs unseasonably that tasted of oil. we had drinking our first drinks and once again had a almost impossible time getting more. We will have a very hard time ever coming back to this bar, if your not a local who attended your not serviced. Only reason for 2 stars if the band...
