Ohana Teriyaki, brilliantly located as its the only restaurant within 1-2 miles offering dine in service. It occupies a relatively small suite capable of serving 8-10 guests comfortably as it's conveniently placed between two businesses, a law firm and the local pot shop. I ordered to go, one of my favorite dishes, Chicken Katsu. It was served "Next To" the usual steamed white rice. I emphasize the words "Next To" due to the fact that the portion size was an unusually miniscule amount as most "Teriyaki Restaurants" give enough that it is actually layered over the accompanied Rice! However, even being a smaller portion of chicken, I still have to complement the quality of chicken as it is tender and meaty. The only complaint about it was that the breaded part was a little bit too dry, so only offering a tiny little bit of sauce was just not enough for even the amount of chicken I had! The salad was the common salad that had again just one little side of dressing. All in all, their customer service was mediocre, and I was pleased to be greeted both entering and exiting! They could provide larger portions of both the entrée and of the side sauces, especially for the price I paid, which was a bit on the higher end of my preferred price range but again for being the only restaurant in a short distance walk, I am not apposed to paying a higher price for...
Read moreThe first thing you should know about Ohana Teriyaki is that it is not just another teri-joint. It is so much more. Because its only six months old, its still relatively undiscovered, but it won't be for long. There is huge talent in the kitchen. There is big, bold flavors ang big value here, a great blend of Korean, Japanese, and Hawaiian dishes. The biggest, boldest flavor comes in their Bi Bim Bap (BBB) Hot Sauce. Ask for it and put it on everything. Drink it straight. It's that good. Of couse the Bi Bim Bap is not to be missed, just be sure to use plenty of the sauce. Katsu Curry comes with a generous cut of crisp, flavorful chicken katsu atop a bed of rice with a heaping portion of vegetable curry. This is a wonderfully comforting dish - delicious. The Kim Chee Fried Rice is huge! Although many other places makes it too wet, Ohana cooks it just right. I like a fried egg on it. They regularly have a special of Spicy Chicken and Mushrooms. They should just put it on the menu. It is a winner with their trademark big, bold flavors. They have a wonderfully diverse menu with much more...
Read moreI called 4 times and no one picked up the phone, so I walked over and I rang the doorbell and no one came to the door. When I finally got someone one to pick up the phone and I told her my experience trying to order and that I would like to place an order to go and look at a menu and all she said was "....okay..." I think this restaurant needs to learn some manners. This was such a waste of the 30minutes I have for lunch. It was rude and condescending and I never leave reviews, but I plan to tell all my friends, Co workers and family not to go there because it isn't worth it. Wish I knew the name of who picked up the phone. I work across the street at a coffee spot and I have been doing customer service food jobs for 8 years. I've NEVER treated a customer like that. NEVER. I would have eaten at ohana every day because I love sushi and I work right across the street. But fine. Sorry I...
