Went to Prairie Tavern last night for dinner. We were going for what my husband said were the best wings. When we got there we were greated by the bartender pretty quickly after walking in letting us know we could choose any seat. Once we sat we waited for about 10 minutes for menus. I was just about to go get our own when the server finally started walking our way with some and had to make a circle giving some to other customers who had been there even longer than us. She took our drink orders fairly quick. Unfortunately it took more than 15 minutes for those to be delivered. Then she took our food order. That actually came fairly quickly. And the food did not disappoint. The wings were all that I could have hoped for! The burger was great and the tots were perfect! Sadly that was the last time we saw our server for the next half hour. I had to finally go get my own extra napkin from the shelf infront of the kitchen. When she finally came back asked if we would like our drinks refilled...another 10 minutes later I finally went up to the bar and asked if we could finally have our refills. Both the server and bar tender were rude and argumentative when we were upset about the quality of our service. This was a slow Tuesday night. There were 6 tables with 2 people at each and 2 people at the bar. There was zero excuse for this kind of service.

Another local favorite I want to share. Stopped by PT with the family to celebrate my grandmother’s 87th birthday. Fun fact: she told us she used to play in pool tournaments here back in the early 80s! Besides having a familial vibe and it being a local staple to the area, the service, drinks and food were amazing. Still even has a few pool tables in great shape. It’s spacious and inviting. The selection of local, specialty beers is also something to boast. Nice big open space suitable for large groups, family dining or just hangout at the bar with a few buddies while chatting up the amazing staff. Can’t say enough good things about the place. Our family had a variety of items on the menu. Unfortunately, there weren’t any specific gluten-free (GF) alternatives. Mrs GF Paisano had to settle for the chicken Caesar salad. Something for the establishment to consider if they wanted. This place is a must to experience. My pizza was fresh and filling, Cajun tots were on point (devoured before I can take a photo), and was all washed down with a delicious Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout. What are you waiting for?!

$112.00 for 2-grilled cheese, onion rings, 4 drinks and 1 beer…Yikes!! The mixed drinks are expensive & very weak, the Long Island was all mixer, I ordered a shot just to add in to the glass of mixer, the Dan hat tan was decent but $15.00, they charge extra for a very small dip cup of ranch, I understand some additional charges, but I believe this was somewhat over the top. The food taste & quality definitely spot on 5 stars! I enjoyed the establishment, service was great, good environment, giving a 2 is difficult, I’m all about great ratings and hoping the business succeeds, I just believe if you’re going to charge $10.00 for a mixed drink, make it worthy. If you’re going to charge for minor substitutions let patrons know that. Would I return or give friends the referral, I’m not sure, there are some outstanding choices for food & drink and less than $112.00 for a couple

I drive by this place almost every day, so I decided to give it a shot. From the outside it looks like a typical small town tavern, not a lot of exterior lighting, no "open" sign visible on the building, a very minimally lit small street pole sign, etc. Inside was a different story though. Clean, recently remodeled, well lit with good seating and a fair amount of TVs on sports stations. Two nice pool tables occupy about 1/3rd if the bar seating area.

The staff was very friendly on the Monday I visited. I had the Brussel sprouts apatite, a strawberry lemonade and a Hawaiian pizza. The strawberry lemonade was one of the best in the clark county area, and the Brussel sprouts flat out were the best in the area, and a giant portion of them for an appetizer too. Much better than the ones at barrel mountain for example. The pizza was also pretty good. The crust was a little thin in the middle, which meant picking up the slice wasn't an option, but it had a ton of high quality toppings on them. The two areas that did not work as well for me were the rim of the crust, and the sauce. The crust had some sort of decorative pinch or weave on it, which looked very nice, but was very dense. I would have preferred a simpler but more risen dough there myself, though it was fully cooked and done well. The sauce was pretty garlic forward, and I wasn't as much a fan of the flavor profile there. I'd put this place in the running for top 10 to 15 pizza places in clark county, but I don't know that it would make my personal top 5 just because of the sauce for me.

I do wish this place had better parking lot lighting and visibility. This place may not feel safe at night for some due to the lack of lighting, and it is difficult to tell if they are open from a quick glance from the street. A few additional menu options would do well here, possibly a steak? Maybe some salad options for those seeking lighter Faire? Certainly a dessert of some sort would work well here (pizza pan cookies or brownies with ice cream maybe?)

All in all I would go here again, I'd probably bring a date here, and everyone there was friendly, prompt...

$2.50 Dr. Pepper cost comped for 2 wrong meals valued at over $20.00?!?! I tend to like the causal, semi country amosphere and food of BPT (once you actually get it). But, this experience isn't the first poor one for us. Yesterday, we went in with 6 people at 3:20 & ordered burger plates with tots, sodas, beers, and wine. Our plates arrived at 4:15 with 2 of them wrong. Because we had a wedding to attend at 5:00, we peeled off cheese from one as much as possible, and asked for silverware to cut up the burger to eat as it was supposed to be lettuce wrapped with no bun but arrived just sitting on a 4 x 4 piece of lettuce you couldn't pick up. After 5 minutes, we had to go get silverware as she never showed back up with it. The other burger plate needed to be remade. 5 of us ate. 2 of us left at 4:35 just when the remade burger plate showed up AND the one we'd told her we weren't happy with but would make due with because we were pressed for time. Everyone else had long since been done with their meals. When questioned about a comp of any kind for 2 meals being wrong, the waiter at that point, said there was "nothing he could do" and proceeded to discount our 6 person bill by a single $2.50 Dr. Pepper. Sad that restaurants who value customers so little remain in business simply because near Battle Ground, we don't have much to choose from and frequent places that rip you off consistently. Guess it's time we stop supporting them and get...
