Laura was amazing. I think the decorating can be a bit better. But the service is phenomenal. She changed the sprinkles as I didn’t like the color or shape. She was happy to fix it. No shaming me or making me feel bad. She did these cupcakes last minute l. I literally needed them done within a couple of hours before closing. Her prices are fair. She did last minute work for a $24 order. Most people need 24/48 hr advanced. She was willing to help. Cupcake frosting is homemade and good. I’m not a cupcake or cake person but I wanted the last one in the morning. This was for a gender reveal with just my kids, husband, and mom. The only recommendation I have it maybe buying or adding some little decorations on top of the cupcake. I’m happy she fixed the top of the cupcake with pride. The periwinkle and pink sprite were the cupcakes she fixed, and added bigger sprinkles with lighter blue and pink. I added some toppings to make it extra special. Again Laura is AMAZING! I will definitely come back and do more business for my baby shower coming up, and whenever my older kid’s birthday come up after summertime. As well any other time I need bakery work. Being 7 months pre and having a baby plus two other children I don’t have the energy to bake anymore. It hard to find a bakery that has excellent service, kind, patient, and so much more! I ordered a cake for my father in laws 80th birthday. I gave pretty loose guidelines as far as the cake went. Exact words were “ He was Army infantry Ranger and has 2 Purple Hearts so something with that theme maybe?” I picked up the cake and it was all purple with gold sprinkles. I understand I wasn’t exactly clear with directions but the cake I got was pretty far off from what an 80 year old Vietnam vet would enjoy/expect. My husband ended up driving it back to see if we could make some changes and even offered to pay for another cake. The gal wanted nothing to do with it and apologized but didn’t offer any sort of solution. Her words were she went “abstract”. But when I think of an 80 year old birthday I don’t think abstract would be the direction to go. I work in customer service and for a small business and I totally understand sometimes there’s some miscommunication but usually you can find a compromise. Or at least that’s the goal? After moving back to town I had to find a new place for family birthday cakes. After reading a lot of reviews one night, for multiple bakeries both in Vancouver, as well as Portland, I landed on Sweetheart Baking Co LLC. The bakery had great reviews and is not too far away, so phoned them up a day before I needed a birthday cake. I ordered a red velvet cake with Buttercream frosting instead of cream cheese. I picked it up, and since it was my first visit, I admired the treats in the cases. The cookie dough looked amazing, as did the cupcakes that had not yet sold out that day. I paid for my cake and headed home. I loved how they wrapped the cake box in saran wrap, I assume a Covid-19 precaution. After my daughter's birthday dinner we sliced into the cake. The cake was incredible. The cake itself was not dry, perfect texture, and flavorful. The buttercream frosting was heavenly, not too sweet.
