FYI : DINED 7/22/23 I never planned on coming here, but we had a fairly big family gathering for family that was back in our/their hometown visiting & our family will be perfectly content to never return. It is a pretty cool place to look at but that was really the full extent of the 'it factor' for our family and most our family.
1 The windowseal behind our booth was covered in MANY DEAD BUGS which at 1 point there was even 1 on my booth's seat where I was sitting... GROSS !!
2 As a parent on a budget I was completely appalled at the $4 fee to 'split plates', when be real in some situations it defeats part of the benefit of splitting a meal and it is just a complete scam.
3 As someone extremely allergic to gluten, I asked about gluten free drinks at the get go & the waitress just flat replied she had no clue what that meant but not that she heard of. Needlesstosay I knew right then there was no sense in asking about gluten free food or what precautions & techniques they use to prepare gluten free foodđ€
4 Gratuity aka tips should NEVER be automatically taken -especially at 20%! NEVER ! ! ! TIPS are earned, tips are extra-above & beyond but also adjustable based on experience, food, service AND BUDGET! It's bad enough the absolutely outrageous prices for food, drinks, extra charges & service charges - then to add 20% off the top. For example my 23 year old son got a classic cheeseburger & his girlfriend a club sandwich plus 2 drinks each, they're total was $136 ($22 was for gratuity despite they ordered they're drinks from the bar & ALREADY TIPPED THE BARTENDER). IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY HERE!!!
"What does it mean to pay gratuity? "Gratuity" is defined in the Labor Code as a tip, gratuity, or money that has been paid or given to or left for an employee by a patron of a business over and above the actual amount due for services rendered or for goods, food, drink, articles sold or served to patrons. (FYI : WA STATE MIMINUM WAGE IS GOOD VERSUS WHY OR WHEN TIPS ACTUALLY MAKE UP INCOME IN RIGHT TO WORK STATES)
5 THE FOOD WAS JUST OKAY, nothing special and certainly not warranting a 20% TIP. I'd rather go to Red Robin where I know I am getting Gluten Free Service, FOOD & DRINKS at half the cost! AND I WON'T HAVE BUGS FALLING ON ME OR LINING THE WINDOWSEAL. Also took nearly an hour to get, we were getting a little frustrated because they were not busy at the time.
6 The final straw for me was when we got up from the table to get some photos out back before part of our 'family/party' left.... Food only half gone, full kids' drinks, half full Corona's, my purse still sitting on my chair, our bill hadn't even been paid & when we came right back food was cleared, kids' drinks were taken, Corona's were gone.... even though our waitress specifically asked the gals bussing tables "DO NOT TOUCH OUR TABLE YET" Sorta unbelievable if you ask me who would have finished my food, the other half of our Corona's & yes, my kids wanted their drinks.
We did have a kid-friendly waitress, which we truly appreciated.
I personally believe Selah is need of & really could have benefited from a quality 'AFFORDABLE' adult and/or family establishment but thats just not what Outskirts is. This place even fell shorter of what little expectations I had & given the other feedback here, our family...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of experiencing one of the worst encounters at the outskirts brewing co. From the moment I walked through the doors, it became clear that this place falls drastically short of even the most basic expectations. Allow me to share my regrettable experience and the numerous reasons why I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. First and foremost, the staff's attitude was utterly appalling. The employees seemed disinterested, unfriendly, and lacked even a basic understanding of customer service. It felt as if they were doing me a favor by acknowledging my presence, and their indifference was palpable. I had to practically beg for assistance and encountered nothing but apathy throughout my visit. The manager âkatâ was the most unprofessional employee. This manager displayed favoritism and played politics within the workplace. It was clear that they had their preferred employees whom they treated with special privileges, while disregarding the rest. This created a toxic work environment, where merit and hard work were undermined by personal biases and unfair treatment. It was disheartening to witness such blatant favoritism and a complete lack of professionalism.
In addition, the manager consistently failed to provide proper support and guidance when issues arose. Instead of stepping in to resolve conflicts or offer constructive feedback, they would deflect responsibility and shift the blame onto others. Their inability to take ownership of their mistakes and address concerns effectively created a toxic and demoralizing atmosphere for the entire team.
Overall, my experience with this manager was nothing short of a nightmare. Their lack of leadership, poor communication, favoritism, and refusal to take responsibility for their actions created an environment of frustration and discontent. It is deeply disheartening to witness such incompetence in a position of authority, as it directly impacts the productivity and morale of the entire team. I hope that my review serves as a cautionary tale for both the management and potential employees who may have to work under this manager's supervision. It is my sincere hope that The outskirts brewing co takes the necessary steps to address these issues and provide a more supportive and professional environment for...
Read moreNeat little spot to check out once or twice. They have two different sides of the location. One side is the full service restaurant that serves full meals & drinks, the other side is more of a bar pub. Just serving drinks & appetizers. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a party of two on a Thursday. It's fairly popular right now. Took the server a bit to get to us because of this. Got our water & ordered some drinks. Water was room temperature with no ice. Drinks came within a reasonable time. Ordered the Smoked Salmon Straws as an appetizer. Took a bit of time for it to come. That's about the time we noticed there's nothing to entertain the patrons. The TVs were either security footage of the people outside or just backgrounds. Couldn't really hear the music they had playing. Appetizer shows up. It's nice & hot. There's only five of the salmon straws. Mostly filled with cream cheese & not enough salmon for my taste. Decent enough to try. Homemade pineapple sauce to dip them in was really good. It's not worth $17 as an appetizer, though. Took a while for our food to show up. We both ordered the bison burger. Was fairly messy. They stack avocado on top of tomato, so the whole top bun just wants to fall apart & slide off. The side was Truffle fries. Tasted more like garlic (which was good) & were lukewarm. The burger was fantastic & the price was fairly on par to what everyone else charges. The desserts we got were the Truffle trio & huckleberry ice cream. The truffles are great. It's chocolate. The ice cream was more like a Gelato, but it was icy & they serve it with a waffle cone in it. Reminded me of how you order a child an ice cream cone. Wasn't really sure what to do with it. Would be better if it was served in a waffle cone bowl or the cone was crumbled over it. It was ok. Wouldn't get it again. The biggest problem I had was the drink prices. They were absurd. $17 for 2 beers?? $16 & $15 for mixed drinks?? I'd rather go to Tailgaters in Selah than go back with the way the prices are currently. The amount of time we spent waiting, the prices of the food, the quality of everything except the burger, & the bland, boring atmosphere just...
