VICR is my all time favorite! I have only ordered from the internet and I have never been disappointed. Their uniqueness sets them apart and their quality is top notch! When my beans come they are evenly colored and glistening just right. My thoughts: -I enjoy the burnt sugar bliss of their Guatemalan. (It is deeper and more complex that most Guats.) -I like to bathe in the deep butterscotch baths of their Costa Rica! (It’s the only one I have had that isn’t just flat and sweet.) -Do you enjoy the complex depths of Sumatra? I think theirs has all the richness and flavor, but not the variability. (They are the first I have ordered from, that I can expect the same from each bag. They learned how to tame the tiger I guess!) -Their Brazil and Columbian both breach the chocolate barrier, with slight hints of stone fruit dipped in decadent darkness! Their Columbian is my favorite!

We were quite excited to see that they have manual espresso machines. They also have a large selection of baking. The line up for coffee is a different line for merchandise. To buy a coffee drink or baked goods, the line is just in front of the back wall. We purchased espresso oat milk drinks with a couple of freshly baked scones. The scones were not moist. As shown in the picture for a cappuccino, the micro foam was definitely below Seattle standard. I found my latte quite bitter. It is quite difficult to make a consistently perfect espresso drink with a manual lever espresso machine. The only place that we've tasted consistently perfect hand pulled shots was in Soho, London, at Bar Italia.

I came in with my wife today and the customer service was poor. We walked in and was ignored for two minutes or so (despite their counter being right at the door, two employees clearly stood behind looking right at us, and only one customer being in there).

My wife asked if there was a menu, the snobby guy behind the counter shouted "No!", but the other employee (a lady) responded with "Yes, it's just up there" at the same time.

As my wife was looking at the menu from afar, not obstructing the non-extistent store traffic (we were completely out of the way), the lady behind the counter said "Due to safety precautions we're asking customers to line up in that corner (pointing to a part of the store) so if you're wanting to view the menu, can you go around the proper way". So, because they're scared of covid, they told my wife to walk around the store to view the menu. There was no line, and there was no other customers waiting. This rule made absolutely no sense. It's like if you jumped the rope at TSA in the airport, and then were scolded by an agent for doing it. If there's no line, it's pointless waiting. If TSA, a government run program that doesn't care about customer service at all, can get it right then I'm sure a small local coffee shop can.

The people who work here had a very obvious "I'm better than you" attitude. None of them are fit to be working in customer service. After leaving, I asked my wife what she thought of her coffee, and she was not happy. $6 for a 6oz cup of poor quality coffee is ridiculous. We'll be taking our money elsewhere. We'll never be going back.

I encourage anyone who reads this to do the same - save yourself the money and the terrible service and get yourself a coffee from one of the other stores.

EDIT: Reading the other reviews has confirmed I was right. These people are absolutely terrified of covid, and because of it, it's destroying their business. I understand being scared but there's only so many times you can use that excuse for terrrible customer service. As others have pointed out, some of your customers are coming to you in support, to help you during these difficult times, so please don't spit in the faces of people trying to do you a favour. Be grateful, and treat us with the same level of respect we give you. It's not difficult.

EDIT - In reponse to the owners: You make the point that I should've contacted you directly, rather than leaving a review. Unfortunately, that's not quite the intent of leaving a review. The point of a review is to warn people publicly about using certain businesses. I'm not here for a reward, or a thank-you, I'm here to warn people that sometimes the service in your store is unpleasant and people may should avoid it. This is sometimes the only way to be heard.

I'd also have to personally disagree with your comments about covid precautions. Every store we had visited on the island seemed very unconcerned with covid - even less so than the city, I'd say. You were the only store that was overly precautious, and your store was the least-trafficked we'd been to during our entire stay. Like I said in my original comments, your covid safety measures would've been understandable if the store had 10 or 15 people inside, but there were 2 of us. I'd forgotten to mention in my initial review, that the lady who spoke to us from behind the counter, an elderly lady, wasn't even wearing a mask while she spoke to us. You can't proactively scold people for not following your "line" rules, while you're simultaneously breaking them.

You mention that your staff are friendly people - I have no doubt that the people in the store are nice at times, my point is that you weren't particularly nice when we visited. As for your comments about always doing your best, if shouting "No!" when someone asks if you have a menu because you're too lazy to point out the menu on the wall, then I'm terrified of what you consider not-trying. Now that you've read my review, you can course-correct, to make sure this doesn't happen...

Well. The location is convenient, you will not have any of the trouble finding this place or parking. The store has quite a large selection of loose leaf teas, novelty items, health foods, and many other items which I did not fully explore. It is quite possible that they have some products that are worth purchasing, but... truthfully... I ABSOLUTELY DISCOURAGE ENDORSING THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Allow me to explain.

The purpose for my visit to this coffee roaster was to purchase a short soy latte. I was looking forward to trying an espresso drink to see if I wanted to purchase some beans so I could take some home. Seems simple right? I drink coffee... I have gone through this simple procedure hundreds of times flawlessly. I ordered two identical drinks. Two 8oz Soy Lattes. After starting the extraction of the coffee, the woman emptied a box of soy milk into the steaming pitcher, here comes the deal breaker... She actually had the audacity to fill the remainder of the pitcher with whole milk. I thought to myself, REALLY!?!? Who does that!?!? She tried to move stealthily and confidently so as not to draw attention to her dishonesty. I didn't not say anything, I know, it is my own fault that I drank the coffee which was not what I ordered. I was too stunned by the fact that she thought she could get away with that. Next to the coffee menu they have a separate sign advertising their abundance of milk options, but she decided for me that I wanted whole milk mixed in with my soy milk. WHOLE MILK?!? REALLY!?!? I just hope this woman recognizes that dishonesty and laziness are never good policy.

The coffee was average at best. Foam mediocre. In conclusion: DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THIS ROASTER, YOU WILL...
