Nice to have her back and the place open again. We have been going to this same location since Jane opened it as Sullie's Pub & Grill many years ago. It was smaller and excellent then and it is much bigger and nearing excellence again, having just opened a month ago. She ran the original pub in a single family home converted into a restaurant and bar. The food was excellent and we brought many a friend a relative to dine there. Sometime, in the early teens she sought to expand the place, ran into a bunch of hurdles, we believe, and she moved on. Then Woody's took over and expanded the restaurant and parking lot. Covid took its toll and Woody moved on, and another owner operated it with the same sports bar atmosphere. It languished when he could not staff it. Now Jane is back in the saddle again. Renovations have been made, the interior spruced up, and a bit of a woman's touch has been added to the place, as well as an Irish flavor to the menu choices. The addition, which was never fully utilized by the interim operators has now been converted to dining space, which I suspect will be fully utilized once the word gets out, the weather improves, and the summer tourist invade Maine again. Our first meals were good, our subsequent ones even better as the opening kinks were worked out. Funny story: my wife thought they messed up her Haddock Rachel sandwich and they had given her a haddock dinner instead. As it turned out, on closer inspection, the piece of haddock was so big, it completely obliterated the normal sized bun beneath it. Last but not least, the wait staff and bartenders are very pleasant and accommodating and Jane can be seen pitching in We look forward to many more IPAs, Margaritas, and fine meals at 38 West. We have no qualms about bringing family and friends along when the occasion arises. We wish Jane and her team all the success and accolades that they deserve. "Laughter is brightest where food is the best". Slainte!

This is the second time I've been here. Absolutely love it! The live music was great tonight. Had some lemonades, the Lamb Burger with their russet potato fries and honey mustard, and got an appetizer. Ordered the small serving of Irish Nachos and then added corned beef. My new favorite appetizer. I've had the Irish Quesadilla too, but I think the Nachos are better. Good parking, great service. Can't wait to try more items!

Ok, 38 West Pub & Grille IS the proverbial Diamond in the rough! The food is amazing, the service is 1st class and the atmosphere is perfect for casual dining. If you are within 30 miles of this place, it is a must go in your Maine restaurant trips. They have an expansive bar, great beer selection & plenty of room in the dining area.

We finally made it to check out 38 West. The food was delicious, in fact, the haddock chowder was so good, that my sister said, “It’s the best I have ever had, except for my Mother’s!” Now, that’s a true compliment. The staff was friendly, drinks were great and even the Sauvignon Blanc was a large pour. The cocktail arrived in a martini glass and the extra was also brought over in a little snifter. Can’t go wrong. Great Buffalo Wings and hand cut steak fries! Steak Sandwich, fish tacos, Haddock Rachel and the Caesar wrap were all delicious. Thanks Jane for such a fun evening. PS Live music was great,...

We went on a Saturday night. The place does look nice but lacks the pub feel. We ordered Motz sticks.. Got 5 for $9.50, these were definitely pre made and just thrown in a fryer so for almost $10 I'm a little upset. My wife got the Rachel sandwiches. She didn't really enjoy it because it was piled high with some tough meat. I got a burger which was OK but 1 slice of cheese is $2 extra. The table next to us got the Shepherds pie, this didn't look like any Shepards pie I had ever eaten. The idea of a fine dining Pub in a small town just doesn't make...
