Anthony's Pizza & Party — Restaurant in Waterford Township

I haven't been to Anthony's in many years due to moving. I was in the area and decided I was going to enjoy my fav's from back in the day from the location that had closed since then. When I walked in to order I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, the smell of the dough took me back to my late teens which was some time ago lol. When I brought myself back from my memories the young lady that greeted me with a smile, she was friendly and polite. She took my order of a pizza square, 1/2 doz bread sticks with cheese dip and a Maurice salad then said it should be about 6 minutes. Another lady came to the front and did not seem happy I was there. While looking around most of the shelves were empty or had very few items and very dusty. About 15 minutes later (which wasn't an issue) my order was ready. Sitting in my car I was still pretty excited but that came to an end quite quickly. The bread sticks and cheese dip were ok, they were hot and soft as I remember but lacking the salt I recall and the cheese dip was creamy but lacked the garlic I remembered. The pizza was ok once I removed some of the sauce it was swimming under. The salad was a total failure for me. I don't think back in the day I really knew what a Maurice salad was, this is not a Maurice at all. I've eaten here a few times & food was good. My low rating is a result of service. Last night I was driving & unable to look up the menu, so I called to ask if they had Italian subs & what was on them, in an effort to add extra toppings if necessary. A guy responded with, "Ma'am... I'm in the middle of a rush..... hold on." He made it very clear that I was bothering him. He came back on to tell me what was on it & had a clear attitude. I told him that he had an obvious attitude & forget it. I was going to buy 5 sandwiches for my family, whom order there often. They said they won't order there again. I understand people are busy & short staffed & overwhelmed, but I do not understand nastiness. Whether he had checked or not, he still was going to be busy. Oh well. Food was pretty bad (in my opinion). Like many others, I heard that the bread sticks were "incredible". But, after trying them, I have to say, they were very below average. While the seasoning (garlic/parmesan flavor) was certainly good, the bread itself was very, very cheap. Not dense and chewy at all, but dry/very airy/kind of hard/not fresh and chewy. Not much substance to the bread. Also, the pizza was surprisingly bad. Very cheap cheese. The kind of cheese that instantly turns to rubber after coming out of the oven, and it all comes off the pizza when you take a bite because the cheese won't tear apart. Not much flavor.
