Granny’s Freezer — Restaurant in Waterford Township

A quick stop as often as I can when going through the area. The parking lot is spacious and has plenty of room for those hauling anything (a horse trailer in my case). Getting out can sometimes be tricky, given the close proximity to a speed change from town coming on one side, and a roundabout on the other.

There are 42+ flavors of soft service ice cream, but I generally stick with my favorite - German Chocolate. I wish they had larger sizes for these special flavors, but it's limited to "Small" and "Regular," so you might have to get two! They have lots of options for cones, bowls, toppings, so you can nearly guarantee they'll have something for you. I stopped for ice cream just a few minutes before 9:00 pm, the girls inside never came to the window, both looked at me and ignored me. I then tried to find the hours listed but didn’t see any posted. After waiting several minutes the girls inside turned the lights off instead of coming to the window to let me know they were closed. Fabulous ice cream stand. I got a cheeseburger and it did not disappoint! Nice thick, juicy burger with all the toppings! Not a thin burger like Mc D's. I also had a "mini" milkshake which was the perfect size for me! They also have hard scoop ice cream and soft serve in an array of flavors. Their menu has everything you'd expect from a business like this, with reasonable prices. Under $5. for the burger!
