Sushi Weng — Restaurant in Waterford Township

First time trying this restaurant, we normally go to Tokyo Sushi in Commerce but decided to try something different since Sushi Weng is closer to our house and thought it would be faster... we are still sitting in the restaurant waiting for our order. We've been waiting for almost an hour and a half! I feel so sorry for the staff, they are very busy and clearly very understaffed. The waitresses are vocally angry with the situation and honestly it's pretty awkward to witness as a customer. The food would have to be AMAZING for me to go ever go back... So, eventually if we ever get out of here, I'll let you know. In the mean-time, Sushi Weng management: please get your poor staff some extra help! UPDATE: Sushi was pretty damn good.. Been here 3 times in the last 2 weeks, absolutely wonderful, good customer service-she comes right to your car as soon as you pull in. Food is fantastic definitely the most authentic around. I'm not a sushi person but my family swears the sushi is good. Salad dressing is to die for, I know that sounds weird but mom always said you could tell if a Japanese place was any good by tasting the house made ginger dressing. I happily drive 20 minutes to get their food. They're really good about substitutions and removals too. I personally order the garlic rice with chicken appetizer and that's plenty for me. One order is 2 meals plus salad (gotta have that ginger dressing). Portion sizes are good, plenty of leftovers for later. Can't wait to dine-in when it...

Fancy freshness, fancy wasabi, fancy prices, not so fancy atmosphere.

My House Special with shrimp and crab was so insanely good topped with their wasabi that I've come to leave a rave review.

The sushi here is amazing, but the hibachi is just mediocre for being so expensive. The sushi is also priced above their mediocre atmosphere, but the quality of the ingredients and the skill of their sushi chef makes up for their premium price.

I can't recommend their tempura ice cream though, it was kind of too thick churro over ice cream that I didn't love.

And the sauces that came with my hibachi were quite strange, and the bang bang spicy mayo isn't spicy enough.

Still overall thrilled with my sushi, it was some of the best...
