Lindberg's By The River — Restaurant in Watertown

The food was amazing. The server was fantastic. If your looking for a HORRIBLE bartender, this is the place for you. She’ll serve men several times over before she’ll even acknowledge the people that were sitting there waiting for ten minutes before those that she served first, even arrived. She has a terrible attitude and if you even remotely try to get her attention, she will give you a nasty response if you’re not who she personally wants to serve. Before any animosity set in, the worst part happened. Her family member and coworker, the very person she denied help from (he offered because they were busy), attempted to serve me a bottle of what I was drinking and she rushed him away and got an attitude with him. How humiliating for an establishment, especially one the smells of mold. No worries! I left a tip and it was vulgar. Got me banned, as if I’d ever go there again. She was happy to tell my family, after I’d eaten, paid, an left she was going to call the police on me. Of course, my fam wouldn’t give my name. That’s okay, because I called and left my name for her (also on credit card, but clearly that was above her head). Not sure if they have more than one bartender so, description: old, homely, ratty witch hair, glasses, short and tubby. First experience and most assuredly last experience. Ps. Bartended for years. Why can I not give this place 0 stars? Have been here a few times on Christmas with my family. This Christmas was the worst one there, by far. Our server had a bad attitude from the get-go. My boyfriend had a dirty coffee cup, plate, AND silverware, not to mention a HAIR in his cup -the cup hadn't even been used yet. DISGUSTING. It gets worse. They served a "Swiss Steak" that smelled like straight up cat food. Had a guest at our table that used to be a chef. He tasted the 'steak' and said it was one of the worst things he'd ever eaten. When our bill finally came, the server had assumed we were all on the same check, without asking. A simple mistake, however we all had to wait an extra 20 minutes to pay our bills (even though the place barely had any guests at this point) because he "had other things to do first, and we should have told him we were all separate." Very rude. As a server myself. if I forget to ask or simply assume everyone's on the same check when they are not, I would NEVER blame them when I didn't even ask if the bills...

I never had bad food at Lindberg's... always friendly. Now that it is newly decorated..the atmosphere is soft and more inviting. Where can you go these days that the local owners have been in the restraunt business for many many years. The owners prepares all the food herself and offers it at fair prices. Every place is fast food these days. Not very nutritious. LINDBERGS IS a family run business. At least it is locally owned... not someone that DOES not speak English... you should tell the waitress you want separate checks..how are they to now. I waitress for 25 years and treated my guests like family.. it's hard to think there were so many things wrong for your group. If something did not please you should tell someone at that time. Remember we are not all perfect .... Happy eating...
