Just left Cocina De Carlos in Waterville Ohio and while the food was great I've never encountered such poor service from any location. My servers name was Brittany. When we first arrived she checked to see if there was rooms upstairs. After having hip replacement surgery one of us in our party could not make it upstairs so we simply made a request that we stay downstairs. She then threw her hands up and said whoa whoa whoa I would have asked you if you wanted to go upstairs no need to tell me that you don't want to go upstairs. I then looked her in the face and said bang up job and service will sit downstairs please. She then took us to our table and was actually our waitress and it was my brother's birthday. She ignored him and his drink order for more than 40 minutes that we were sitting at that table even argued with him on his birthday about how she had asked him five times if his drink order was okay. Meanwhile she had never came to the table to ask him. Then she came and asked him if he would like fried ice cream or churrizos for his birthday. He said he would like neither as ice cream upsets his stomach and the other option he didn't like to which she then turned around and said okay I'll bring you the ice cream completely ignoring his request for nothing for his birthday and making the statement that she is very capable of ignoring the men at the table. I have never been so astonished at the behavior of a server in my life I will never go back to the Cocina De Carlos location in Waterville. I also work for a large Hotel chain here in Perrysburg and I always recommend the Perrysburg location of Cocina De Carlos and I still will recommend that location but when it comes to the Waterville location I and my family and my friends will never visit that establishment again. I only gave it two stars because like all locations of Cocina De Carlos the food was excellent. Management should seriously reconsider Brittany's position as a server. Sincerely the most unhappy Cocina De...
Read moreWent here for the first time on mothers day. It's easy to tell when you see a menu that has 400 (exaggerated) menu items that the food isn't going to be good. When there is that much on the menu certain things haven't been cooked enough or practiced. I decided on enchiladas because it was such a cluster of different things. How can they go wrong with A LA carte enchIladas....well they did. There was little to no beef or beans in them and the cheese tasted like rubber. My wife ordered street tacos and took a few bites before leaning over and saying how bad they were and she couldn't finish them. Son got the shrimp tacos he said the shrimp was ok but every other aspect was horrendous. My daughter just got basic tacos and asked for no lettuce...they brought her tacos stuffed full of lettuce so we asked for a replacement. Finally got the new tacos and she took a bite and spit it out. I tried one and the meat tasted like a dry meat loaf that was scraped out of a pan. She ordered tamales to replace the tacos and idk what they put inside but it was dry and tastes like 3 month old chicken fat. We had to wait a solid 15 to 20 minutes for a waiter to finally refill our drinks after they were sitting on the table empty. Horrible food Horrible service loud AF inside so you can't even hear the person sitting next to you. My other son said his quesadilla was good. Cheese and a taco shell.......glad they figured that one out at least. Will never return and advise all to stay away from thus...
Read moreGreat private space! We used their upstairs private space for our March 2025 wedding rehearsal dinner and it was perfect! They are one of the few places fairly close to Nazareth Hall, our wedding venue. We were able to setup a time and view the space and discuss options in person. We had just over 25 people there but there was room for at least 12 maybe more people. The space is upstairs seperate from the main dining area, not much open floor space as tables and booths take up the bulk of the space. This was suited to our needs as we were only using the space for dinner and then leaving. Only caveat is parking can sometimes be hard to find if they're busy. We were told we could decorate if we wanted and bring in our own dessert. They had 2 buffet options that we could add onto to customize and several options for drink packages and cash bar. We worked with Rodrigo mostly and he was very accomodating and answered all of our questions. When we used them they were not charging a room rental fee, we paid for the food and drink package plus gratuity and tip to waiter/slash bartender and takeout containers were provided for the leftover food. Highly recommend if you're looking a private dinner space...
