Cancun Grill and Cantina - Waukee — Restaurant in Waukee

I've been here twice - the first, service was extremely slow to the point of being non-existent. We thought that maybe it was new-restaurant jitters and they needed to work out the kinks. We tried again, and once again, the service was non-existent. Our food took 45+ minutes to get and although warm, this isn't the traditional experience with Mexcian restaurants. If you visit, my advice would be to not sit on the patio because there are flies that bite and are a nuisance; however, if you sit inside, expect to have a hard time hearing the company you are in. The place is just LOUD - not because of the music, I think it's just the way the place is shaped.

$3.90 for an iced tea is absolutely insane, and their margaritas/mixed drinks were astronomical . And, a $16.50 burrito?! Come on, we’re not in New York.

I simply had (2) $4.00 hardshell beef tacos…. very subpar and equivalent to a Taco John’s (seriously).

This place is waaaay overpriced and very ‘American’ style Mexican food. They’re trying too hard to be big-city, with big-city prices.

Very poor experience. Ordered tacos that were cold, fajita salad that had more grease than you could ever think possible, and burritos that barely had anything in them.
