Today was my first visit to Smokey Row in Waukee. My daughter and I stopped for lunch around 12:15pm. There was one occupied table of patrons that were already eating. There was no one else in the Smokey Row side of the building, and there were no employees to be seen. My daughter and I looked at the menu, and waited for a number of minutes before an employee finally came out and took our order. My daughter specified multiple times that she did not want the mayo/pesto on her sandwich. I also specified that I did not want mayo on my BLT. My daughter's sandwich came with mayo on it. I took the tray back up to the counter and waited for someone to come out from the back, but no one ever did. I finally went and sat back down so she could at least eat the chips as she needed to leave to go back to school. After she left someone finally came out of the back room and I took our trays up to the counter. I told the employee that my daughter could not eat the sandwich because it had mayo on it, even though she had said multiple times that she did not want mayo. The employee said, "oh, ok". That's it. No apology. No "how can I make it right?", nothing. I understand that it is difficult to find employees right now, and try to be patient and understanding about waiting for service. However I do not at all appreciate having to wait for service, paying over $20 for two meals, having one of them not be correct, having no one around to talk to about it, and then when I do find someone, having them say "oh, ok". I really hope some additional customer service training is provided to the employees. I also hope that they can make time to clean the tables and chairs better. The tables were dirty, and the chairs were also dirty. There were also no napkins...

My husband ordered chicken pot pie, which came cold. Sent it back and they heated it up a little. It was on a very hard biscuit, not looking anything like picture in menu. Also could NOT find one piece of chicken. Also ordered a salad-wrong dressing. I ordered a BLT. The bread was very very barely toasted. Just bread I guess. We had high hopes, as we saw you have several locations and just wanted a quick meal. Then there was the giant cookie we bought. It looked good but crumbled to pieces when we opened it. Wish I had seen the date written on back before we bought it. So disappointed. And came home hungry. I will say the kids working there were pleasant enough, although maybe need better...

Youāre probably going to have to order your drinks off the menu. I tried to order a āflat whiteā and they were dumbfounded. I tried explaining it and that was a no go. I ended up just asking for a cappuccino since I hadnāt really looked at the menu and there was a line behind me.
