This was the most unprofessional experience I have had ever had!!! The only reason why I'm giving it one star is because 0 isn't an option. Let's start with the fact that I was super excited that this place was opened for mother's day brunch. It's been closed for a long time and I was so happy that there was another restaurant option in Schuylkill County. I originally had reservations for 11so glad that half my family couldn't attend because we would of had to taken a small loan to pay for this extremely over priced brunch/buffet. Besides feeling completely ripped off of the fact this mother's day brunch/buffet was $35 per person and consisted of only maybe 6-8 options including mac & cheese, chickenfingers, french toast.chicken, potatoes, dry meat and I think a dessert yea all that $35 per person I was told that this was there high end buffet šStephanie comes to the table and tells me thier credit card machine isn't working and I have to leave my credit card information, so I did. The next day I left for vacation out of the country. She hits my card and between the restaurant billing me on a Monday afternoon with a enormous amount and me trying to use it in another country my credit company flagged it and froze my card so besides the inconvenience of that this woman Stephanie leaves multiple voice mails on my phone threatening she's going to the police so needless to say I was so unbelievably annoyed with this woman because not only was the food a huge disappointment and extremely over priced and I got charged an extra $40 surcharge because I guess there were 6 of us and it was Mother's day this woman continued to harass me for the entire week I was on vacation. I was not ignoring her I was OUT OF THE COUNTRY. I did finally settle the bill with this woman while she continued to be unprofessional. This was not my fault nor was it hers the credit card machine was not working and that must of been very frustrating for her restaurant, but to treat me as if I ran out of the restaurant purposely not paying and threatening me multiple times with the police was completely un called for. I'm sure she will reply to this post because she seems like the type that will continue being rude and unprofessional. She tells me she's been in the restaurant buisnesss for over 18 years I can't see how she could possibly last much longer with her absolutely horrible customer service. What a shame we like to go out for dinner alot and thought this would be a place we can frequent. I will never be back for obvious reasons.
Wow the response below! bravoš wrong customer your referring to. I think you have me confused with another dissatisfied customer. We were never rude to you or your staff in fact our waitress was wonderful. I see that's how you take criticism in your responses to other reviews you automatically go after your customers for being rude to staff that was not the case here.I'm sure it's confusing with your terrible customer service and all i can see how you can get confused with the attitude you have with your customers šI think your the restaurants...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe first time we went, everything was great. But the last 2 or 3 times, it's been uneven. They're very friendly, but there's been too many times when it it literally felt like the wait staff had gone on a break. And the food is hit or miss. I had Eggplant Parmesan yesterday, and the eggplant seemed to have returned to its former stateāgelatinous muck. And there was so little sauce that the angel hair pasta, which seemed to be cooked properly was to dry to eat. By the time you get some extra sauce from the kitchen, the pasta's cold; you know the drill. My wife's shepherd's pie was mostly flavorless. I mean, come on, garlic and salt is pretty cheap. Our salads were excellent, but I don't use standard salad dressings, so I had to eat it undressed because I assumed that by the time I got some lemon wedges to squeeze over it, the entree would be coming out. Mostly my fault, I guess, but it just seems like there was a time not so long ago that service was more attentive at decent places like this one seems to be. The only reason we went is that we didn't really feel like cooking and we had a decent conversation going on that we figured would be better facilitated by the ambience of Summit View than our media-forward living room (gotta do something about that, right?). We've actually gotten to where we order the cheapest things on the menu because it just doesn't pay to order the more expensive stuff. The odds of getting something good seems to be the same across the board. The owner is really nice and she comes around and looks us in the eye to make sure we're happy but we just feign satisfaction because trying to resolve things just gets old and tiring. We also realize that food service jobs are pretty thankless, so we tip heavy and complain little. The desert was great, btw; we had the Peanut Butter Mudslide and caramel-drizzled cheesecake. You really couldn't go wrong with either, frankly. Oh, and their excellent Bruschetta appetizer has pretty reliable for us. If it seems like I'm generally disillusioned with eating out, you got it. To be honest, we're pretty much over it as a pastime. We're enjoying a lot more home cooking for a lot less hassle and money. We've actually considered buying some plastic meal containers to fill up for our upcoming vacation. I don't fault people for keeping on keeping on trying to make a living, and I wish them all the success in the world, but something extraordinary is going to have to happen to get us back to eating out a lot. If you depend hopelessly on prepared meals, YMMV here, but we just expect the worst for entrees, and are sometimes pleasantly surprised. Stay tuned for more senseless rambling. And, no, my name's not Eeyore - lol. š§šš¤Ŗš
I just noticed that the owner is replying to unfavorable reviews with passive-aggressive comments, so that's not at all a good look.
The bottom line is that this place is a little too expensive to justify some of the spotty product...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust ok. We had a 6:30 reservation, seated right away. Our waitress was very nice. We ordered our main courses probably 10-15min after sitting down -- we did not get said meals until 8pm. Two of the men at our table ordered prime ribs, med rare (as they should be). When they cut into them, they were WELL DONE. We really dont like to complain but after a long wait and paying an unknown market price for these, they decided to mention to the woman (not our waitress) who stopped by to ask how things were. They just said they were overdone, just wanted to let them know... we weren't asking for new ones or anything at that point. We received a very bizarre explanation; she told us "well at 8pm you're not going to get a medium rare prime rib, they're cooked at 4 so by this time....." ............ so you're telling me unless you order a prime rib between what, 4:30-5:30pm, there is no chance of it coming out medium rare? I have never heard of this. We eat out frequently, at all times of the day, typically dinners 7pm+ and we have never had an issue getting a prime rib done correctly. It was just a bizarre explanation, IMO... and, if that were the case when we ordered at 6:45pm we should have been informed that the prime ribs could not be cooked the way they were requested. They did give us two free desserts to make up for this issue..... so, it wasn't the end of the world. Overall the other food was decent and the...
