Enjoyed the Texas Weiners at @mccobbsfamilyrestaurant in #Wayne, #NJ on their last night of the season in January 2024. Don't worry, they always come back in the spring!

Here they serve up a unique preparation of Texas Weiner (celery mixed in with the white onions), and the chili sauce is darn tasty. I took some to go home.

Owner Dean Mamakos (working here since 1966 when he started at 13 years old) boasts that the chili sauce has 26 spices, all combining into a delicious condiment to top their 7:1 deep fried beef and pork hot dogs.

Dean told us the brand of hot dog, but he asked us to keep it under wraps because his competition all wants to know!

Believe me when I say that it's not the usual in these parts, and it's a high quality frank. My lips are sealed...

I dearly love this place, the food is delicious, their all the way hotdogs are the best on the planet, you can't get that hotdog anywhere else it's truly a work of art the way they make it and their sauce is incredible their fry's and coleslaw is also incredible,I have been going to McCombs for my whole life, I'm in my 50s their quality control is amazing,I only have one problem with the place and it saddens me, they are only open occasionally and now they are closed all winter,I am worried they will be closed forever at some point, it's an awesome place and the food and service is incredible, it's a blast of the past, please keep it going,Dean and Spearow you...
