Gorgeous little coffee shop tucked into the Appalachian foothills. Ample space and modern decor fit well with the unbelievable amount of natural sunlight. If I didn't have places to be, I could sit there all day! The feel, vibe, atmosphere, or whatever you wish to call it, just beyond fantastic. Plus, you can see the roasting area, which is way cool. That all said, let me get to the best part.
The coffee is great. Scratch that, excellent. I loved that there's no overwhelming variety of flavors, which is so nice compared to many other coffee roasters / shops. When the variety list starts to take up a whole section of the menu, it can be difficult to make the right choice. Happ coffee provides just the right amount of selection! It was fresh, fair trade, delicious, and prepared by some of the best staff.
The batista who helped us was so kind and friendly, knowledgeable, and welcomed us with a genuine smile. I felt very welcome and glad to be there. The service was fast, and the pickup counter location is easily accessible. It was a great surprise to see a recycling, compost, and trash option next to the coffee station. The straws, napkins, cups, and many other items were compostable! Reducing the amount sent to the landfill? Bonus points!
The food looked great. Personally, I didn't get to try any (yet), but it was far superior to what you see at many coffee shop chains. Real ingredients, prepared by real people, fresh, and very likely - really good! Like, actual artesian breakfast sandwiches. I've worked in kitchens for years and can say they're doing it right.
I can't wait to go back! If you're visiting Waynesboro or the surrounding area, this spot is well worth a stop off of 64 east or west. Oh man. I forgot to mention how easy it was to get to off the interstate! The location is perfect. No driving all the way into the heart of downtown.
So, all that said, don't miss out on a chance to check out Happ Coffee. They're making great...
Read moreWas on our way to do a late hike in Shenandoah and my boyfriend wanted a latte, found this per Google maps and went in-Very similiar to a lot of new coffee places we visited while in the C'ville area and Keswick; industrial, very open with tables. I don't drink hot coffee and normally can only do La Colombe draft lattes but ordered a Brown Sugar Latte (espresso) and it was the best iced coffee! It had this deep roast flavor and everything just melted together perfectly- My boyfriend had ordered a Vanilla Latte and assumed it would come out hot, but came iced, I went back to buy another for him, hot version, and they were kind and made one for me however he said it was the best iced latte he's ever had and he doesn't normally like them, hence the reason I went to get him a replacement knowing he wasn't going to be happy with the iced version. He did drink both and said he was shocked he liked the iced one better.
If you are in the area heading to the park I'd highly recommending stopping here-The girls were all so nice and friendly which made it...
Read moreI’m so happ happy to see the Virginia metalworks warehouse being saved! Awesome vibe and great location near to Shenandoah NP. The chocolate croissant was delicious - presume not made there? - but our 2 coffee orders were screwed up and 4 people were trying to get it right. Took longer than it should to even make. Another person came up and said her drip coffees never came out. Both of our lattes were the worst drinks I’ve ever had in a very long time like in years, like maybe ever. When u pay $5 for a 12 oz u really expect much more. Especially with an automated machine. One was oatmeal the other milk. Nothing good about either. I used to own my own coffee shop so I do know a little bit about it. Something was either wrong this day or there is a problem to rectify. Get the drip and hopefully that will be the ticket cause they roast here and it’s worth enjoying the atmosphere! The cashier was awesome - 5 stars. Oh and put some ant traps in...
