Yamato — Restaurant in Waynesboro

The food was nasty. Miso soup tasted like it was from an expired can and cold. Appetizers came AFTER the meal when we asked again. The lobster hibachi came out like a patty I had to gnaw on because it wasn’t cut and had no knife. The lobster Rangoon had no taste what-so- ever. There was a child playing kick ball in the eating/ kitchen area and the dirty ball landed in the kitchen and on cook surface a number of times as did the dirty wad of paper he was throwing around. The cook sneezed onto the food he was cooking and then wiped his nose with his bare hand and continued handling the food.There were dirty boxes, ladders, fans, and bicycles stored throughout the restaurant.The pictures on line are NOTHING like the true dirty restaurant. The atmosphere was more like an old dirty 70s garage sale than a restaurant and food all over under our table.. maybe from a previous diner trying not to eat it. Who knows. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND...

i hate leaving negative or bad reviews at restaurants but i’ve also never been driven to leave a restaurant because it smells like sewage😭 the dining room wasn’t awful besides being very dated and a little dirty(the floors were very clean though) but the smell even in the dining room was already pungent when i first walked in & i gagged going to the bathroom. from literal feces smeared on the wall to just the stench permeating i knew i had to leave immediately. i’m not a picky eater though so i got my food to go and it’s pretty good so i would order again but definitely order takeout. pleaseeeee hire a company to deep clean your dining room/bathrooms though because wow. pictured is the new york strip steak with...

Pleasantly surprised. I was a little nervous when we pulled up and the place looked kind of run down from the outside. But we have it a chance and honestly, had a great experience. The sweet tea was sweet. The sushi was delicious. And the waitress was very kind and attentive.
