HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in the both the food and atmosphere. We drove two hours for our 5:30 reservation to be pleasantly greeted by the owner BUT he was SMOKING A CIGAR!! It was outside patio seating only, but it was enclosed, so the stench of the cigar was strong. We were promptly seated and the service was not bad, but not exceptional either. As soon as the food arrived, SO DID THE FLIES!!! I was swatting at them during the entire dinner, and on top of the cigar smoke, I really started to lose my appetite. The schnitzel was good. I asked if we could try all three sauces, and the waitress obliged but didn't inform us there would be a $3.00 charge for each of them. The rahm sauce was greasy, the butter sat on top, separated from the cream. The sherry sauce was fair. The jaeger sauce was like soup (definitely not a topper for the spetzle), which we ordered one side, but they mistakenly brought us two. The fried potatoes were mushy and cold. We were really looking forward to dessert, but after the dinner and atmosphere fiasco, we were just ready to leave. Two schnitzel dinners, a pretzel appetizer, sides of sauces and spetzle, and one soft drink ended up costing $80. I HAD to give it one star for me to be able to post this review, but it doesn't even...
Read moreWaitress was nice and was able to seat us even when they were fully booked, however everything else about this place was unacceptable the food service was very fast, but after I took my first bite it didn’t taste right, I cut my food in half and saw that the pork was pink, raw, white fat, and cold in the middle. The breading was soft and mushy and not cooked all the way. I spoke to the owner and he returned defensive saying that it was normal, but I showed him the white fat, and the fact that the pork was pink and still raw. He rose his voice at me when I tried to show him what I saw. I stopped eating and left.
Hopefully I don’t get food poisoning but if I do there...
Read moreWe called mid afternoon on Saturday looking for a table that very evening. We were lucking enough to get an 8:30 table for the 2 of us. The service from the young waitress was great. With the late reservation there were a few items no longer available from the menu but we were able to find items that suited our desires. The Schnitzel Cordon Bleu was awesome. Had an amazing dinner to cap off a great day of state park hopping. I highly recommend this place but do know you'll want reservations, early seating is better for menu choices and the soft pretzel as an appetizer and the apple strudel for desert makes for a truly wonderful meal in an out of the...
