It’s 7:04 pm on the night of march 31st 2024 Easter day the lady working was the blonde with glasses I’m a truck driver I come into this iron skillet every other day because it’s on my load route and I like eating here and always had great customer service I always sit at the same bar I waited at the sign to be seated for a couple seconds then just walked through wrong on my part probably but the lady was busy with other customers and I’ve only had this waitress one other time so I sat down talk to other drivers and after about 10 minutes she comes up and says “oh just seat yourself then I guess you can’t read a sign” in a really rude remark and the other drivers just looked at me in shock in the attitude so she comes back and brings me my iced tea and says maybe “you should learn to read better since your just gonna do whatever you want” and the other driver was just shaking his head looking at me and said earlier she had three customers sitting there for 10 minutes waiting to be seated and the place is pretty dead so I got up and left I’ve never walked out of a restaurant in my life and been so disrespected so as I’m walking out the door she looks at me and says hope you have a blessed day” and I’ll admit I have a short fuse so I just said “ maybe you should grow up “ which I shouldn’t have said to which she replies so should you” idk if she was having. A bad day or what but it’s not our drivers fault we also have to work Easter this is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant there was no reason for her to act like that because I didn’t wait to be seated I’m sorry to type this report everybody has to work holidays it’s part of life I’m sorry if she was having a bad day but it’s not our fault I’ve worked as a waiter when I was younger I get it it really sucks it’s not the best job I hope she has a better...
Read moreVisited the Iron Skillet this past Monday. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted and seated; only about three or four other tables occupied at the time we arrived (around 9 a.m.). Had a short, yet pleasant conversation with our waitress while placing our order. In the meantime, only one other party of three was seated. It took nearly 45 minutes before our meal was served. Both orders were incorrect. Mine was close, an omelet, but incorrect ingredients. My husband ordered ham & eggs, yet received an omelet also. The waitress seemed confused as to whose order it was or how it got prepared so incorrectly. The order was resubmitted. After about another 15 minutes or so, our order was served. Pretty sure my English muffin sat in the warming window for at least 15 minutes and the only item on the plate was the omelet ordered and remnants of the hash browns that were to accompany the omelet. About that same time a side order of hash browns was delivered to the booth just behind us. Jokingly made a comment about my hashbrowns being scraped off my plate and served to the other party. Much to my amazement, that's exactly what was done. The explanation was that the other customers were not done to their liking. The waitress offered to have a new order of hashbrowns made. I declined (wasn't in the mood at that point). Just can't make this stuff up. Most likely our first and last visit to the...
Read moreI ate there Saturday and it was pretty bad, the goulash elbow noodles were way overcooked, basically mush. Because overcooked noodles are common nowadays due to poor management in the restaurant business, I had asked the not so friendly server if this cook did noodles right and she said they were cooked at the beginning of the day, so I thought that it would be safe, but I was wrong. It appears to me that there is no real management overseeing the operations of this Alamo Petro, just like the one in Sparks. A clear example of this is the Google page that still shows opening pictures of the old buffet and old salad bar even though TA decided more than six months ago to discontinue them in all their restaurants, sad but true. Also, I just read the reviews before mine, and yes, poor management, this is why I usually eat across the street, but they close daily at 3 so I was an hour or so late for...
