Some Place Else — Restaurant in Wellsville

Was traveling and wanted a good breakfast, although it was around noon when we arrived. I drove from Mountaineer, where we had spent the night headed south. I drove 20 mins around two different bridges to get here and I'd do it again! My mother and I are both great cooks, homestyle cooking. therefore, we know good food ! Not much to look at from the outside and not a lot of parking however, this place is a gem! We ordered 2 eggs over easy ( no runny whites ) they were cooked absolutely perfect, bacon which again was perfect, great flavor with the perfect amount of crispness along with some chewy parts, home fries again, perfect! We asked for sausage gravy on our home fries and they were out (it was afternoon) very understandable, we substituted brown gravy with absolutely no regrets, delicious! The toast was even something to rave about, crazy huh? a local bread, I failed to get the name, it was great! our bread at home is sliced a lil thinner. Thier's was a tad thicker, although not as thick as Texas toast (that would be too thick) was toasted perfectly with a crunch and chewy middle. What was the name of that local bread? Service was great, she was getting very busy and the other workers pitched in to refill coffee. loved the small town atmosphere. I suggest if you're ever in the area to stop by this lil gem! They know me as Bubba here or they call me Big Guy, or sometimes even Sweetie but in reality they call me family. I have enjoyed this establishment since it's early inception and grand opening years ago. Janet and Becky who run this restaurant are two of the sweetest individuals I have ever known or have had the privilege to call friends. Everyone who walks in is on a first name basis and the food is made with the kind of love this world seems to be missing these days. Whenever I venture back home this place is always on my list to visit. They supported my writing dreams by purchasing both of the books I had published and showcasing them to the world. If ever you find yourself in Wellsville there is no better place to enjoy good food nor better people to share it with. They really know what comfort food and family are because that is the experience you get when you walk through the door. The food is 10/10 but the owners and staff break the scale with all of their love...

My partner and I were traveling for work and needed a place to stop for lunch/dinner. We always try to look for little local places along the way instead of the big commercialized restaurants. We landed on this place as he saw a picture of one of their burgers on the internet. Boy did we strike gold! We were greeted promptly and sat wherever we wanted. They treated us like family from the minute we walked in. Decided on the burger and fries and man was it delicious! While waiting, we met the owners/cooks who even brought us out a sample of her chicken dumpling soup which was crazy good!!! These folks are sincere as it gets and just love to make great food and please their customers! We could not have found a better spot and it was the highlight of our day! Excellent meal, very affordable and a huge portion and we are not small guys! Thank you Paddle Wheel, you know you will see us...
