We stopped in on a rainy evening for dinner around 6:45. The place wasn't busy but they have a decent number of booths, counter seats, and several tables. I ordered the meatloaf, which was the advertised Wednesday special, though I'm not sure if it was any different than the regular menu item. It came with one side and a soup or salad, and I got the latter with mashed potatoes and gravy over the meat and potatoes. The salad was good, fresh, with romaine, tomato wedges, and sliced cucumber. While they didn't have Italian dressing, the balsamic was fine. I thought the meatloaf was alright, with a good flavor and soft but springy texture that held together without crumbling. The gravy was much too salty for my taste, with the occasional crunch of undissolved salt crystals, so I should have probably just asked for it on the side. The potatoes tasted like reconstituted powdered spuds, perhaps a bit bland, but were fine with a bit of the gravy. We had a slice of the lemon meringue pie for dessert. It had a gratuitous amount of fluffy meringue on top and a sliver of lemon curd that was satisfyingly sweet and tart without being overly indulgent, atop a homemade shortening pie crust. Overall, the food was average but prices reasonable, service was attentive, and the food came out quickly, making our pit stop a brief one that met our needs.

Place was wonderful.. They even have parking for semi-trucks. Staff were very friendly, portions were sizable and delicious. Prices were fair. Restaurant was clean. Would absolutely visit again. On a side note: I can't believe they had a half a day of school, when this snow picture was taken. Visited again tonight (02/05/19) and ordered a burger and fries. Came out hot, fresh, and delicious. Another job well-done. For dessert ? Oreo Cake (pictured). Great little place.

1st visit to Ringoes NJ and breakfast was on the menu. I ordered the greek omelette and my daughter ordered an egg white omelette with peppers, onions and sausage, cheddar cheese. The bread came in a basket. A carafe of coffee came with breakfast, which was hot, strong and superb. The side order of bacon was crisp and dry, not greasy. The food was delicious and the drive was worth it. Definitely would recommend Amwell Valley and will go back.

Have passed by this place so many times over the years, so my husband and I decided to stop. Walking in, looked like a standard Jersey diner, booths, counters with stools, dessert case prominently displayed... all standard elements! We were greeted very nicely, and with a little sass, which I appreciate a lot!! Sat down, ordered a coffee, and started to review the menu. First, coffee was sooooo good!!! I could have drank an entire pot, it was that good. Menu... LOTS OF VARIETY!! Plenty to choose from, so no one should ever have to worry about not having options. To start we ordered some soups, Matzoh ball and Beef Barely. Y'all.... DELICIOUS!!! The beef barely had so much flavor and was so hearty, you could eat a cup and not have to have a large meal afterwards. Matzoh ball was equally as tasty! Decided to get the Mediterranean appetizer, which is meant for sharing. Came with a large mixed plate of goodies and some very warm and soft pita bread. If we could have licked this plate clean and no one would judge us, we would have!!! The Tzatziki... refreshing, flavorful, had the right body to it... Dolmades... un-freaking-believable how good these were!!!! Some delicious tomatoes and some greens on the side, in addition to a nice helping of eggplant caponata, and peppered with chunks of deliciously creamy feta cheese. DEVOURED IN MINUTES!!!!! Since this was a first visit, I typically always order the same thing from a diner that helps me gauge a return visit... Hot Open Face Turkey Sandwich. Now, this was the day after Thanksgiving, but I don't care, I'm still going to eat it. And if some place messes this up, then the other food is not going to be good either... in my experience. Well, they did NOT mess it up at all!! Turkey gravy was seasoned perfectly, turkey was moist and delicious, mashed potatoes were awesome and tasted very close to homemade, and the cranberry sauce was not canned... even though I do like that. 🤣 Husband got the Greek salad which is LARGE! Not only is it large, it is DELICIOUS!!! It was the kind of salad I could eat for the rest of my life. The Greek salad was REALLY THAT GOOD!!! It does come with sardines, so be aware. I'm not a fan, but my husband loves them, so he was happy. After our meal, we were "encouraged" to try some dessert. Twist my arm... 🤣 Most desserts are made on-site, and they told us which were and which were bought. We had a slice of lemon raspberry layer cake and a slice of lemon meringue pie. The lemon raspberry was REALLY good. It tasted very fresh, moist, and lots of great flavor. The Lemon Meringue was really good also. The filling did taste canned, but it was still really delicious. However, the meringue... I'm not usually a fan of it because sometimes it doesn't have a lot of flavor to me and the texture can be off. But this was absolutely PERFECT!! Had great texture, flavor, and was a perfect match to the pie!!!

To sum it up, food was 10/10, services was 10/10, overall atmosphere... it's a diner... and it was fun! Overall experience, 12/10!!! Will come back...

While driving a bus up to pick up some kids in North Jersey I had dropped off a couple days before I decided to try a different route since the way Google had recommended on the earlier trip was closed due to a traffic accident. Not being sure that this other way would be any better than taking the detoured route they had suggested I decided to leave home an hour before I really needed to and then if I made it through past Trenton with ample time in my schedule to stop I would try to find a decent diner to grab some breakfast. Since this was a planned possibility I did check the Google reviews and out of the half dozen or so options I had Amwell Valley seemed to be my best choice in the area. With only a minor slowdown at the I-295 road construction my planned stop worked out well so I stopped. The first thing I noticed upon my arrival was that there were five or six trucks parked out back which is usually a very good sign since truck drivers are some of the ones who have had numerous opportunity to check out several different locations and then only eat at the better ones. Since I arrived after the "breakfast rush" there were only about a dozen or so others so the woman who took my order although busy with other things as some one did not come in that day giving her added chores to do was still able to be pleasant and helpful. When my meal came out a short time later I was a little worried that I might not be able to finish it all as it looked like a lot more than what I was thinking when I ordered but not wanting to waste any or take it home for later I did manage to get through it. The only negative thing I experienced was that the breakfast came with sausage which I do usually prefer over bacon but not this time as it was not the regular breakfast links but rather more of a larger Sweet Italian type. When I come back I will remember this and go for the bacon instead. One more good thing to note was that when I ordered my coffee it was brought out in a carafe that held just about enough for my meal so I did not need to go without any if it was needed while...
