This place serves well made sushi in a generic restaurant atmosphere. While the sushi itself was top tier, there were minor issues with my side items. Meals come with a ginger dressing side salad and miso soup- fairly standard sides for most sushi restaurants. The side salad I received was watery, like they had freshly washed the lettuce and not let it dry. And while the miso soup was delicious, the bottom of the bowl was wet with soup and a tiny piece of tofu was stuck to the outside of the bowl.

Overall I was left with the impression there was some disconnect between the kitchen and the counter. The preparation felt rushed from the kitchen, taking a little less care to prep the standard sides.

I ordered Unagi don with a spicy scallop hand roll and sweet potato roll on the side.

The eel was delicious, and they piled plenty on top of the rice in my bowl. However it was a little over-sauced, and I had to take a little extra rice to balance out the flavors. All the sushi was well made, with evenly cut rolls and great craftsmanship and presentation from the sushi counter.

With this meal I ordered hot tea, which came in a traditional Japanese style handleless mug. I was a little disappointed that the tea itself was simply a tea bag that I had to brew myself.

The decor was very restaurant traditional, without much traditional Japanese charm. Seemed about the basic dishes you could put in any restaurant to serve food, and nothing really screamed Japanese to me save the tea cups.

Meanwhile the service from our server was amazing. He kept coming back to check on us and was prompt in taking care of all steps of the meal. Anything we asked for he was quick to correct and take care of.

Overall I would say there were just a few minor issues that are easily fixable. A little more care with the sides and green tea l did not have to brew from a bag would have upped this to...

So this was my 2nd time here . came For my grandson's birthday there were 6 of us we had reservations for 5o'clock, Almost 15 minutes later they Seat us, The waiter took our orders for drinks And meals and I Ordered 2 shrimp appetizers, My daughter my grandson shared the $75 meal combo which was supposed to have A 8 oz filet mignon, My wife order the Seafood combo with lobster shrimp and scallops, I have the chicken shrimp and scallops, In my 2 sons had the steak and scallops and steak and shrimp, Soup and salad came out , Soup was cold and salad was so full of the hard corps from the lettuce I just took the tomato off and ate it My shrimp tempura came out and unlike the last time I had one piece Of Onion ring one piece of Broccoli and 2 pieces of other veggies besides 2 pieces of shrimp Last time I got more than one piece of Each veggie, For $13 for 2 orders of shrimp tempura this was a waste of my money. The chef came out to start cooking the food He was pretty good except when he was squirting liquids out of the bottles he had my grandson all wet all over his sweatshirt, He started to cook the rice and noodles and Vegetables, The Show they put on wasn't too badd, And then he starts to cook the meat and veggies and the Lobster tails, Mind you lobster shrimp scallops do not take a long time on a flat top but what he served if to everything to us they were all over cooked, And as far as the 8 oz steak my daughter in my grandson were splitting for the $75 meal that was no 8 oz portion more like a 4 oz portion , For spending over $255 we could a went somewhere else and had a better meal For my 2nd time here this was really a disappointment I can guarantee you I will never come back I'll spend my money...

I am absolutely appalled by this place and how they treat their staff. We arrived to celebrate my sons birthday when a fat slovenly gentleman (and I use that term loosley) "greeted" us at the door. The place wasnt busy yet made us wait over 20 min before we were seated.

Our waitress was amazing. The chefs put on a great show and the food was delicious. So what's the problem? We ordered sushi rolls to go and our waitress innocently messed up the quantity. Instead of $6 in sushi, I ended up with $30 in sushi.

The fat man publically humiliated our waitress in front of saying because she messed up our sushi order she had to pay for the sushi! The poor girl was almost in tears! He stormed off and after talking to our waitress, there was no way in hell I was going to make her pay for that! It literally would have been almost everything she made tonight. A single mom, working hard for $2.25 an hour plus tips! And they treat their help like this? I of course paid for all the sushi and gave her half of it since she liked sushi an I can never eat this much. And gave her a huge tip.

This place will never see my business again. Poor management that treats their employees horribly. Now I wonder if they can do that in front of a customer, how are they to their staff when...

I love this place as a resturaunt but had a terrible experience with an employee this evening. I was not able to make it to the reservation on time and was about 10 minutes late. When I arrived I asked everyone to order before me and when it came time for me to order our waitress told me "ma'am you need to hurry up, the chef has been waiting on you". I was 10 minutes late. Due to having 6 people in our party when the bill came around there was already an 18% gratuity placed on the bill. The waitress was rude to our table the rest of the evening. That being said the Hibacchi chef who cooked for us was playful and pleasant, joking around with the children at the table and was respectful to the adults. The food was amazing as usual, I particularly enjoyed the Ninja take on jalapeno poppers. I will be coming back, but not to this location anytime soon. I have recieved far better services at Menomonee Falls. Edit* a few weeks later I went back into my bank statements for something else only to find the resturaunt had not charged me for my meal that night after I had mentioned our waitresses behavior to another employee. I greatly appreciated the gesture.

I haven't been here since this restaurant was new. There is plenty of seats. The booths were comfortable, they could use a refresh. The booth seats were kinda battered and torn. This is what I ordered.. Creamy Latte martini Vodka, coffee, cream and kringle flavor Kirin Ichiban Japanese, beer tasted great, good pairing with sushi. Shrimp teriyaki bento box Comes with miso soup, salad, white rice, one California roll, shrimp tempura, and shumai. This meal was very satisfying and everything tasted great. I ate everything. Mochi Japanese ice cream, strawberry Very yummy and perfect for small treat and when your stomach is full. I made an error on my receipt when I calculated the tip. They didn't charge me what I wrote on the receipt. They charged me the correct amount. Thanks for being honest.
