4/24
I ordered the cobb salad, lots of bite sized vegetables, hard boiled egg slices, diced tomatoes, bacon pieces, salad greens, black olives, and avocado slices, balsamic vinaigrette for dressing.
I ordered one of the specials advertised on the tables. Ribs and strings, four bbq ribs on a pile of deep fried onion strings.
Cocktail of the month of April was lemon meringue martini. Martini glass had sugar and pie crust on the rim. Taste like lemon meringue pie.

Once again I used Google assistant to find out the wait time.
This time I tried the deep fried cod bites basket. Light and crispy deep fried cod bites size pieces of cod. Perfect for a light snack. Perfect if you don't want the full fish fry dinner.
One of my favorite things about the Charcoal Grill in West Bend is, there are Mexican cooks working and listening to their own music in the kitchen. Seems like they are running the kitchen. They are doing a great job.
6/23 I used Google assistant to find out if Charcoal Grill was busy and had room for one person. That worked really well. Every time I pass the West Bend Charcoal Grill it seems too crowded. I was pleased to find lots of room in the restaurant.
This Charcoal Grill was very different from the Charcoal Grill in Grafton Wisconsin. I was warmly greeted at the door and was seated immediately.
My server was pleasant, energetic, had a great attitude, and very attentive. Saw my needs before I needed it.
I ordered the cheese bites, it's Spotted Cow beer battered breaded cheese cubes. Didn't really need ranch dressing. Very tasty, crisp, and cheesey.
I ordered the chicken and ribs dinner, served with salad, waffle fries, and roasted vegetables (green beans and sliced carrots). I also received a small loaf of bread with regular and cinnamon whipped butter.
Ribs were meaty, great barbeque sauce flavor and fall of the bone tender meat.
The rotisserie chicken wasn't quite the same as the other Charcoal Grill in Grafton Wisconsin. Didn't have the excellent barbeque flavor. It did taste good, skin was crispy, and meat was tender.
I really liked my server, she made up for two of the last places that I felt ignored. Like I wasn't a problem because I choose...
Read moreThis place once was one of the better places in town for dining in, but after the experience I had tonight, steer clear!! It started out fine, we were sat promptly and our drink orders were taken. My friends each ordered a steak dinner and I got a pulled chicken sandwich. 30 minutes later, we got our food. Not terrible considering one of the steaks was ordered well done. The other was ordered medium. Both came out with a pile of roasted carrots, not mixed vegetables as described in the menu. Our server returned and we brought it up. She explained that they were going through a menu change. Didn't offer a different choice, apologize or anything. Then we watched the kitchen close as soon as our food was at the table and the cook leaving for the night. Once my friends cut into their steak, we realized that both steaks were prepared incorrectly. Our server was too busy chatting at the bar to check in until after the cook left, and my friend informed her his steak wasn't right. She said she would let the manager know. He's not the type to complain, but after waiting 20 minutes for Matt the manager to come out and talk to us after he'd been in the bathroom with the flu puking, we told him about the poor service and the fact that it would have been fine with it being remade except the kitchen was closed. The manager came back and said he took 20 percent off of just his meal. My friend explained that he wasn't 100% satisfied with that, and at that point the manager said he'd give him the meal free and hoped he WOULDN'T SEE US AGAIN! At this point we are all disgusted and outraged. As we were walking out, the server said sarcastically have a good night and HOPE YOU DON'T GET IN AN ACCIDENT! Now, I've been in customer service for a very long time. Telling a customer you don't want to see them anymore and hope you don't get in an accident is the epitome of poor customer service. We did nothing wrong, they didn't correct their mistake but we are expected to pay for it? It's 2 steak dinners, not a burger and fries here! It's no wonder this business didn't last the first time it was in this market! If I could rate this experience zero stars, I would! Thanks Matt...
Read moreWe stopped here yesterday for our first time while passing through town. I wasn't sure whether to give two or three stars because it was really nothing special at all and prices seemed a bit high for the amount of food you got. My husband and I both ordered a different burger each and when they arrived, it literally wasn't any different then throwing them on the grill at home yourself, except you'd save money grilling it at home vs paying $13 there. We were not impressed. We ordered what we thought were beer battered fries and got overly greasy onion rings instead. We didn't want to complain, so we ate some of them but with how greasy they kind of made your stomach turn. It kind of threw us off that we had to ask for a menu.. not everyone is constantly on their phones or brings them with to scan some code just to try and look the menu up so that was off putting. We noticed the deserts pictured on a card at the table and decided to give those a try. My husband ordered the tiramisu and I ordered the chocolate pecan pie. I guess I'm not sure what we were expecting but for $4 & $5 a piece I would have thought we would have been brought something in a little bigger proportion and not taste like it was frozen/ store-bought. My husband's tiramisu really didn't have much coffee flavor It was pretty basic and my pecan pie pretty much just tasted like a chocolate chip and that was it. For us it definitely wouldn't be worth going back. After scrolling through and looking at some of the pictures posted to the restaurant page, it definitely makes us wonder if we came in on a "wrong" day or what because our food did not look that good nor was it proportioned as those...
